Luke's eyes cracked open tiredly as his phone rang loudly with an alarm, the beeping bouncing around his head as he groaned and rolled over to hit his phone. Bashing it a few times and fumbling it into his hands he turned off the alarm and growled as he rolled onto his back and eventually stared at the ceiling. He'd survived the night. Sighing he pulled his phone up to his face as he saw a singular message from the unnamed number which had texted him last night.
'Take the day off. Figure out my name. Then we will talk.' Other than that Luke's phone was void from any other message, the one that was there sending a momentary nervous buzz through his body even though he knew the person was a killer. But he couldn't seem to see them that way, they were still too innocent in his eyes. Carefully he sighed and sat up as he tapped his phone more and called up the office.
"Good morning, it's Luke... Yes Luke Night... I plan to take the day off to work at home, please tell anyone involved to email me if they find anything." He hummed tiredly into the phone as he crawled out of bed and looked through his dresser with a yawn. "Ok, thank you." He finished as he hung up the phone and threw it back onto his bed as he changed, deciding to wear a relaxing set of clothes so he could focus. Yawning he walked out of the room after picking up his phone before stepping over to his computer and sliding down onto the chair. He would make food after he had everything ready to go. Logging in and pulling the evidence he found yesterday towards himself he questioned the shining combat knife that was presented to him. Sighing he looked back at his computer as he pulled up crime scene photos, lining up the messages left at every single scene. He'd done it before but as the murderer's soft and innocent composure ran through his mind he felt his eyes wandering to his phone. He opened it and glanced again at the messages 'A' had sent him, never once using a contraction or advanced punctuation. It was strange seeing that the messages they had written at crime scenes often had mis-capitalised letters. Luke's eyes widened as he looked at all of the crime scene photos again, the capital letters jumping out at him like the sun on a clear day.
"D-A-N-T-E... Dante..." Luke mumbled as he scrambled to pick up his phone and type the name into his messages.
'Dante?' He questioned as three dots appeared a moment later.
'I will be right there.' They replied as Luke felt his heart beat quicken at the sudden realisation, sure Dante already knew where he lived but now he was coming over. Luke stood up in a panic and looked around, an instinct making him pick up and sort out his things like a nervous person awaiting guests. Suddenly there was a knock at his door and Luke stepped over to the kitchen as he picked up a knife and held it behind his back as he approached the door. If he was letting them in he needed to make sure that he was ready. Carefully unlocking the door he opened it slowly to see a cheery boy around his age standing there with a sadistic smile, they wore casual clothes but still looked smart and somewhat professional. He looked up at Luke with a soft laugh as his soft fluffy blonde hair framed his face adorably. Surely this wasn't Dante right? Luke thought as his eyes fell to the boy's dark blue shining eyes, it was definitely him.
"Come on in." Luke finally muttered as he opened the door wider and let Dante inside, still trying to figure out how such an innocent boy was a bloodthirsty killer. Gently he shut the door and walked deeper into the apartment as the boy stepped in as well and sat at the table.
"So... you're 'A'?" Luke questioned as he put away the kitchen knife and walked around his dining room table cautiously before sitting and glancing at the other boy. He looked somewhat angered under his soft smile, his body frozen in fear, his smile seeming fake and forced.
"Yes but you already know my name, so that works as well." He replied, his voice soft and comforting despite his own obvious discomfort. Luke saw the way the boy gripped his hands in each other while his eyes darted around the room every now and then.
