As I sat in my office and read my emails I thought about the grand opening of the cabaret lounge at one of my hotels. It had to be big and extravagant, people expected nothing less from Lennox Hill hotels. My best friend and business partner, Chase Matthews, hired the burlesque group that would be performing every weekend. I remember him describing them as 'ridiculously sexy woman who he's dying to hook up with'. Knowing him he'll make that his goal and succeed. As I continued reading my emails, my door opened and Chase walked in. I didn't take my eyes off the screen. He sat in one of the chairs across from my desk and smiled.

"Man, are you ready for tonight?" he asked, with his English accent. He always tried to talk like me, with an American accent but failed. As much as I failed to talk with an English accent.

"Yea" I said.

"Really? You should tell your face" he said.

"You do know we're working tonight, right? This isn't you going out and meeting women trying to get laid" I said.

"Dude, you're almost 30. I love you man, and this is why I'm telling you to take the stick out of your ass. Go to the grand opening tonight and try to get laid. I'm telling you, these dancers are unbelievable and the main dancer is the most beautiful. She takes your breath away"

"I'll consider your advice, but right now we need to make sure this grand opening is perfect" I said.

"Of course it will be, but when was the last time you had sex?" he asked and I looked at him with a straight look on my face. That wasn't any of his business. "Oh I know, a month ago. When you broke it off with Gabriella because it clear all she cared about was appearances" he continued, but all I could do was look at him. Maybe if I didn't talk to him he would get up and walk out. "You're not going to say anything? Fine. I'm just trying to help you"

"I really cared for Gabriella" I said.

"I know you did, but move on. You weren't meant to be, anyone who saw the both of you together knew"

"Are you done?" I asked

"For now. I'll see you tonight, okay? I have some things to take care off beforehand" then he got up and walked out of my office.

The day went unbelievably fast, it was almost time for the opening and I still wasn't down at the lounge yet. As I closed my computer, I started to take off my tie. I hated wearing it. I unbuttoned the top buttons on my shirt and I felt like I could finally breathe. I exited my office to find my assistant, Monica, waiting for me.

"Ready, Mr. Kennedy?" she asked.

"Yea" then we took the elevator down to the lobby. When I got there, there were thousands of photographers trying to get into the hotel but the doors were already closed. My PR team came over to me and we talked as we walked towards the lounge.

"Everyone is in the lounge ready for the show. The red carpet was a success." Reese, head of PR, said.

"Great, where's Chase?" I asked

"He's already inside, waiting for you to start the introduction" she said.

"Okay, let's get going then"

As we continued walking, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. I was listening to the people talking to me. Out of nowhere, someone bumped into me so hard that she was about to fall when I caught her and pulled her back up. I was about to get pissed until I looked into her green eyes.

The world around me stopped, and it was just the two of us. I was mesmerized, she was gorgeous. She seemed like she was in a hurry since she literally ran into me with what looked like costumes in her hand. She didn't move at all, all she did was look into my eyes.
