Dancing With You

Chapter 5 (Anastasia)

7:30 pm

As Ryan and I sat in the hotel lobby, waiting for my family to arrive, we talked. We'd been talking the entire day, which made me feel more confident about our relationship. I felt like we were going so fast but I didn't care. I wanted to be his as much as he wanted me to be.

"I have to say, I'm a little nervous about this" I said.

"Why?" his smile faded.

"I know you know my dad, but it's different now. You're dating his daughter and he's going to hold you up to a certain standard" I said.

"Don't be worried, I promise you I'll make a great impression" he placed his hand on my cheek and I smiled. He gave me a quick kiss on the lips and then one of the receptionist came over to us.

"Your guests are here, Mr. Kennedy" she said.

"Thank you" then she walked away and Ryan stood up. "Ready?" he asked me.

"Mhm" I got up from the couch and hooked my arm around Ryan's. We started to walk towards the door. When I saw my family, I couldn't help but smile. We walked over to them and I hugged Daniella first.

"Ana, I feel like I haven't seen you the whole day" she said.

"That's because you haven't" then I hugged Lucas and then my parents. I hadn't seen them in a week, which was a long time for us.

"Hey, mama" I said as I hugged her.

"Hi, doll, how are you" she said.

"I'm great" then I hugged my dad. "Hi daddy" I said.

"Hi, Annie" he said.

"Mom, dad, this is my boyfriend. . ." I said.

"Ryan Kennedy" my dad said as he shook his hand. "Great to see you again" he said.

"Likewise" Ryan said. Then he shook my mom's hand and my brother's. He looked at Daniella. He seemed a little taken aback by how much we looked alike. We had the exact same face with different hair lengths. "Hi" he said to her. 

"Hi, it's so nice to finally meet you. I've heard so much about you in the short time Ana has known you" then she hugged him and I couldn't help but smile. Ryan had no idea what to do. He was a very serious businessman and this over-optimistic girl was hugging him.

"It's nice to meet you too, you should hear the way your sister talks about you" he said to Daniella.

"She's great isn't she?" she smiled looking over at me.

"She's amazing" then he took my hand. "Why don't we go sit down and have some dinner" Ryan said. We walked over to the restaurant and the host came over to us. She showed us to our table and we all sat down. Once we ordered we waited for our food to arrive. 

"So, Ryan, I never thought you and my daughter would be dating" dad said. 

"I didn't even know you two knew each other" mama said.

"Well we recently met" I said.

"How?" dad asked.

"I came to the opening of his cabaret lounge" I said.

"Right, congratulations by the way, I heard it was a huge success" dad said as he looked over at Ryan. My father could tell what was going on with me just by looking at me. It was like he could read my mind. 

"Thank you. I owe it all the unbelievable talented act" Ryan said as he looked at me, then I smiled.

"What was it?" mama asked.
