Encountering A Daemon

Once everyone was through the magic portal they saw the start to a well traversed path. "Alright everyone keep the talk quite and you're attention on you're surrounding, i won't accept losing any of my students, am i understood?". The class was in a half circle around Velox as he spoke sternly nodding to him in understanding. In single file the group began their walk with Velox as the spearhead and Alexander in the back while Kazuya was stationed in the middle.

After some time of quite walking and the usual sounds of nature Velox spotted a few fall logs. "We'll take a ten minute breather". Allison plopped down onto one of the logs leaning on Sialias shoulder seemingly not used to such a trek. "Never been in the woods?" "No, the only places iv'e seen outside the kingdom are large lakes, for practice with my dad before coming to the Vallenfall academe".

As the two girls conversed Ora, Alexander, Kaz and Velox all noticed that the surrounding wildlife had stopped making any sounds. about to speak up they all rapidly turned to the sudden noise of a snapping twig to see a raccoon. "False alar-". Before the teacher finished talking a loud roar was heard from behind the raccoon moments before it was snatched away into the heavy bushes and a crunch of bones could easily be made out. While weapons are drawn and other get ready to use their magic James closed his eyes for a moment then yelled before jumping out of the way. "Here comes a strike". From the shadows of nature a massive brown bear pounced at the group missing most as they rolled out of the way but looking like Allison was too caught off guard Panda instead grabbed onto her arm and pulled her closer getting a better grip as he pushed an arm into the air using his wind magic to create a gust of wind that launched into the bears large paw moving it just enough that it only cut a strand of the smaller girls hair before crashing down on the partly rotten log where she had been sitting.

"Now James, Ora! trap it!". Not needing to think further the two placed there hands on the ground which shook slightly before a hand the size of the bear sprouted forth on each of it's flanks grabing hold of the beast. Upon closer inspection everyone got a closer look at this bea- no, monster, it had deep cuts all over its body, its paws bloodied most likely from it's many victims. It''s eyes were a deep blood red and the vains looked as though they were about to burst from an unsatisfied primal hunger, not to mention the reddish black aura that it seemed to give off. Kazuya watched on wide eyed at the thing, the daemon he encountered a few years before was not as large or hungry looking, but taking a look around seeing the faces of his classmates some with a look of fright and others a look of uncertainty of what was to come of such a fight. With the bear grappled everyone snapped themselves back to reality. "NOW WHILE ITS PINNED! ATTACK!" yelled their teacher who himself moved forward sword at the ready.

As the students and teacher rushed forward the daemon bear roared to the sky's as it pushed it's large muscled arms outward cracking the earth that held it in place. Alexander ran his finger tips down the center of his blade leaving a trail of fire across it before rushing past the leg of the monster leaving a deep wound that also burned other parts of it's flesh. Having its legs attacked by the other students the bears legs bleed heavily before it smashed out of it's earthen prison in time to make a grab for Ora who watched in what seemed to her as slow motion as the blood covered paw inched closer, its eyes set on her as it's next meal.

When Ora blinked she saw a young Sialia and Alexander standing with arms open in front of her as a rabid dog had tried to attack her, a tear streamed down her cheek as she blinked again to see a familiar back in front of her. Alexander put himself between Ora and the bear just as he did the rabid dog when they were kids, but rather than get bit by the bear as he was the dog she as well as everyone else watched as he raised his left arm as if he were holding a shield. Before the bears clawed paw made contact with the red head there was a painful burst of heat as a shield made from flames that was the size of the bear formed burning the hairs from the monsters arm causing it to rolled back and onto its side in pain from the intense heat.

Taking the initiative from Alexander, Kaz sheathed his sword and raised his hand, seven small yellow circles appeared in a half circle above him before shining a bright white light as yellow balls of what most consider other worldly magic sprang forth impaling the bears limps as it attempted to get up only letting it fall back onto its side. Once it tried to lift itself again Panda lifted his fist and brought it down right next to the bear which caused a massive gust of wind to crash down on it's ribs earning a crack as a few seemed to break under the pressure, quickly James and Ora placed their hands to the ground once again bringing earth hands form the ground and having them encased the bear completely aside form its neck and head.

Alexander, Kazuya and Velox all rushed over and simultaneously brought blades down into its neck. With a short struggle the bear began to stop moving, the dark aura lessened until it could no longer be felt. "Good work on the save Panda, you two on the grapples and Alexander and Kazuya on the use of you're magic". Velox said while swinging his sword so the blood left its metal and sploshed onto the ground. Allison looked down while a tear moved down her cheek before a hand brushed it away. Looking up Panda was smiling down at her. "I bet you're thinking 'i didn't do anything to help, i just got in the way', and if you are then you shouldn't, it got the jump on us and it could have happened to me, i'm sure you'd have done the same". Allison wiped another tear away and looked back up at Panda who was about a foot and a half taller than her and nodded. "I-i'll be more careful next time, i couldn't really help as i didn't have much available water around". "We can fix that issue when we get back to the kingdom, i'm partly to blame not making sure a water magic user was well equip for such a task.

All was forgiven and the group decided that even though they completed their task they would camp out for the night and return to school the following day. "So we gonna cook that?" Kaz pointed to the large bear. "i don't think anyone has tested if a daemonized animal is safe to eat, and i don't plan to allow any of you to try that ether, last thing i need to explain to the principle is that i let a student become a daemon". " You should have thought of that first silly". Sialia said giggling at Kaz followed by laughter form the others, all but Ora who had pulled Alexander away form the group quietly and stood turned away from him. "Thank you" "Hm? what for?" came his reply. "that's the second time you've out yourself between me and a rabid animal, so i wanted to thank you Alexander moved a little closer and placed his chin on Ora's shoulder. "Hm..? why aren't you facing me? feeling a little shy now?" Ora's face turned a deep red while she turned and stomped on the fire users foot earning a rather loud "OWWWWW!" and even more laughs as the rest of the group noticed.

"A group of school kids took down the masters bear? how.. interesting, i best report this".
