What Makes You A Hero?

One week later

Standing in the kings hall was the seven students from the S class, off to the sides of the room were the families of said students who all had been summoned by the king to discuss the recent attacks on the outer villages of the kingdom. 

"I would like to get right to business. As some of you who know the full legend of the seven kings and seven hero's you will know that the first seven hero's could not defeat the kings as they were, so they settled for banishing them to the dark territories and created barriers to prevent them from passing through but only the kings cannot, their armies are still free to pass through and follow there masters commands. Unfortunately the barriers were not made to last forever and my best arch mages surmised that the barriers would hold for about another two centuries. But, we were wrong, the barriers power has been fading fast than we assumed and may only hold for another few years if that. Due to this i ask- no, beg S class, please, you seven are the only hope of defeating the seven kings before they break through the barrier and take over Tel' Dorae for themselves". 

Some parents look on at their children in concern while others look at theirs with confidence. "Do you really think we can beat kings? not just kings but ones that are have lived many lifetimes gaining no one knows how much power?" James asked with a serious tone not to commonly seen from him while he placed a hand on his waist. "You are all young and you're magic studies unfinished i know, but you possess a great power from the last hero's, with more training you could perfect that power, but time is short, we don't have the time to wait and train you, if you accept this task you will have to train on the road" the king spoke determinedly "i have no doubts you can accomplish what the last hero's started". 

"Alright i'm in". Kazuya stated closing his eyes placing hands on his waist. "But Kazuya, you could die" came the voice of his mother. "I know, but if we don't at least try then we all die to the kings" "Kazy is right, if we wait all seven could come at us at once, and who knows if even the whole kingdom could handle that" Alexander stepped forward as he said this. "Come me in then" came Pandas reply "Me t-to i wanna help!" Allison yelled out raising her hands. "But Alli sweetie it's far to dangerous for y-" "if i'm one of the hero's like the king says i want to do my part, i'm really good at healing and the others can't use healing magic, i can be useful to them". Allison's parents looked to each other then approached her embracing her in a hug. "Okey dear, but make sure you come back to us when you succeed" "You have nothing to worry about, we'll take care of her like she will take care of us" Sialia said bringing her hands to her chest in fists looking hyped as all the parents looked over their kids.

"Then it is decided, you will be provided with a carriage and horses along with enough supplies to last you a few weeks, if you can it would be best you depart immediately. "Yes you're majesty" the group said in unison.

Day two on the road 

"we're coming up to a village shortly, we should rest there for the night and restock ou-" Before Alexander could finish talking a loud shout echoed from the bushes off to the side. Sialia, Kazuya and Panda looked at each other before jumping form the cart and sprinting in the direction of the shout. Once through the brush they saw an older man on the ground covering his head and shaking in fear as two goblins ran toward him with daggers drawn. Acting quickly Sialia had her bow off her back with arrow notched in seconds releasing it's shaft she added a gust of wind to push it faster were it meet it's mark in the closest goblins jaw coming out the other side and into the eye of the second goblin who tripped in his sprint tumbling forward stopped at the old mans feet to which he quickly pulled them up to his chest before pushing himself backwards.

Kazuya held his arm out as a yellow magic circle appeared until it opened into a slightly bright hole. Sticking his hand inside he pulled out the handle and then blade of a shining short sword taking it in two hands and rushing to the second goblin followed by Panda. The goblin panicked seeing it's comrade die from an unseen enemy, turning it spotted Kazuya right before he reached the green creature, it quickly slashed to it's side were Kazuya would end up but it's blade was meet with not the white haired man with a glowing sword but it struck the green and red eyed mans arm instead who showed no signs of pain or wincing.  The glowing blade slashed through the goblins left leg as Panda let out a gust of wind propelling himself to the goblins other side were he released a gust of wind form his elbow bringing his fist into the creatures skull cracking it on impact causing it to fall like the first did at the old mans feet.

Kazuya sword disappearing, Panda and Sialia approached the old man helping him to his feet. 'Are you alright sir?" Sialia asked while the old man replied. "y-yes, since you youngsters showed up, thank you so very much, i cannot thank you enough" the old man bowed to the three as Alexander and co ran through the bushes to see the goblins on the ground dead. "I see you made quick work of them" Alexander said inspecting the bodies. "Their just goblins, pretty easy to beat when they ain't in big groups and organized" came Kazuyas rely. "I take it you're from the village around here, Oakheart village was it?" asked James. "That's right it's not to far from here which makes me worried for the village folk if i was attack so close, i hope they were rouge goblins".

After the old man had said that the group gave each other a look before Ora and Sialia grabbed the old man rushing back with everyone to the cart, jumping on Alexander took the reins and rushing the horses who galloped at full speed. "You don't think there is an organized attack on the village do you? Ora asked the red head who pointed to the sky quickly with one hand before taking the reins again " look up there, unless the village like big fires i don't think that's a natural amount of smoke". Ora followed his hand seeing a few plums of smoke billowing into the sky above what was to be the village they intended to stop at.

Arriving the group could hear screams, breaking wood and some crackling as houses went up in flames. Looking for the goblins that were likely causing this Sialia spotted something large and green in color move around the corner of a building that was ablaze when she heard a deafening scream that could only be the final cries of a helpless villager. Jumping form the cart the group made there way to where Sialia pointed in deep concern, when they turned the corner stood over the corpse of a women was a goblin the size of the carriage they had been using which could hold all seven of them and there supplies. "What the fu-" unable to finish his cussing Kazuya turned around followed by James and Sialia at the sounds of goblins surrounding them form behind.

"Ora, take Alli ans the others and evacuate the rest of the villagers, she can heal any wounded" "but shouldn't we try save the village?" "the village is in flames, they can rebuild it but not if they don't have the people to do so" "and what do you plan to do huh? fight alone?" Ora gritted her teeth and stood next to Alexander as he drew his sword, running two fingers down it's blade leaving fire were he traced. "You can be so stubborn" "Like you're not? i'm not leaving you're side". Smiling Alexander yelled to the others to evacuate the villagers earning replies such as "got it" and "alright". James and Kazuya dispatched of the few goblins quickly Kaz with his sword and James with earthen spikes through the jaws into their brains. "Meet us in the woods! we won't go to far!" shouted panda as the five once students now rookie hero's ran off taking any villagers they saw with them.

Looking at the large goblin now the two noticed that it wore a terribly made crown and wore animal and human skulls as a necklace, wielding a spiked mace in it's right hand it leaned forward giving a grin at the small humans before it. "Goblin king kill humans, goblin king eat humans, die! die! die!". sweat dripped from their brows as they readied there next move.
