Navy used her fingers to feel the wrist and neck, where she felt a slow heartbeat.

"She's alive," Navy said quietly. She looked down at Cooper. "He must've smelt her or something from that far away..." she said softly. She lifted the baby's eyelids to see bright blue eyes, hardly moving.

"I got formula in my bag," Daryl said as he began to go through his bag. Carl pointed at Navy.

"Can't she just feed-"

"Don't wanna take the chance," Navy said. "If this one is sick at all, I could get sick and Elle would get sick," she told him. "If Daryl has formula then let's use it."

Daryl took out a small can. "I keep it with me, in case somethin' ever happened. Ya never know, if we had to run, if you got separated from Elle," Daryl told her. Daryl began to mix it up. He wasn't very careful with the measurements, but Navy wasn't worried. Anything is good right now.

Navy took the bottle Daryl gave her and slowly began to feed the baby. While Navy worked her mother magic, Daryl and Carl took the time to kill walkers that have followed them here. Afterwards, while the baby slowly drank from the bottle, Navy gave them the news.

"She can't last too long on just formula, especially this. We need to get her back as soon as possible, she needs IV's," Navy told them.

"We can start headin' back now. It's pitch black, but let's just hope that Coop 'ere knows his way back," Daryl said, patting the dog's head.

They made their way back to Alexandria, Cooper leading them, his nose glued to the ground as his tail wiggled, his paws prancing through the wild.

When they got back, Rick let them in. Navy took the baby straight to the infirmary with Saddiq, where the two of them worked all night on feeding the baby, resting her for any diseases, and keeping her alive.

It worked.

Navy stayed up all day and all night for a week straight monitoring the baby, wondering what type of horrible human being would leave a newborn baby by themselves to starve to death. To suffer.

Henry would bring in Elle to see Navy, to check on her. After they discovered that the baby had no contagious diseases, they would place Elle next to the baby. Why? Before the apocalypse, doctors would do this when a newborn baby was sick or struggling to survive. Something about having company right next to them, similar to their size, genes or health, can make them more comfortable, happy or hopeful, so to say. This can give their bodies a little bit of strength.

And it was working.

"She's doing a lot better," Navy told Henry. "I'm just trying to wrap my mind around who would do something like that," she muttered. Henry shushed her, pulling her into a hug as he sat down next to Navy. She offered a small smile, just as Saddiq came through the door. He looked down at Elle and the other girl, smiling soft.

"They're gonna be best friends," Saddiq said in a soft voice. "I have good news, though," Saddiq told her. She picked her head up, looking at Saddiq. "Aaron and Jesus want to adopt her. They want a sister for Gracie." Navy smiled. "It's up to you who adopts her. But I think-"

"Of course," she said. "They're great parents... and Gracie is a little angel. And at least this way, I know that this girl will be protected..."

Saddiq nodded. "I'll let them know next time I see them. As for now, you should get some rest. We got a big day tomorrow."

"What do you mean?" Navy asked.

"On guard. Didn't you hear?"

"No," Navy shook her head.

"Lets just say, Eugene made fireworks."
