"Do you really think he will fall in love with you? Never!"

"Burnt face!"

"Freak!"

"No one will ever love you!"

Amaia squeezed the shower valve and closed her eyes as an embarrassing scene on her head plays all over again. She shook her head trying to forget all of that scene in her mind but she just can't get rid of it, so she just leaned her head on the wall. Though that scandalous scene happened a month ago, she still can't forget all of those hurtful words they have said to her. She turned the shower off with her eyes still closed.

Of all people, why me? Why did this happen to me?

Tears started to fall down on her cheeks so she turned the shower on again. She thinks that crying in the rain or while taking a shower is great because she can just cry it all out without anyone else noticing.

After almost half an hour crying, Amaia stepped out of the shower and stared at her naked body in the full-length mirror on the wall. Slowly, she took a step forward and carefully examined her face. Nothing has changed, the right side of her face down to her shoulders still has a burnt scar that she obtained fifteen years ago.

The burnt site still looks mottled, and because of the fire, it melted her skin. She carefully touched her shoulders up to her face and though it's a bit lumpy, it became smooth and shiny and pale because it somehow healed over time.

A knock on the door startled her so she quickly grabbed the towel and covered herself. "Ami you still there?"

"Y-Yeah, I'm almost done." Amaia hurriedly dried herself with the towel and covered her body. She opened the door of the bathroom and her mom was already outside waiting for her to get out. She has her own bathroom inside her room but unfortunately, she can't use it because the drain is all clogged up. Her mom told her that a plumber would come today but it seems like no one's coming.

"What took you so long? I'm almost late for work." Amaia's mom hurriedly went inside the bathroom after she stepped out. Her mom works at West Valley Medical Center as a nurse and her father also works there as a doctor. Amaia is not very close to her father because he's always busy in the hospital taking care of other people, but after her accident, her father always finds some time just to bond with her.

She went up to her room and find herself something to wear, something comfortable. She smiled after seeing her self made studded shorts which she dyed pink. She paired it with a white loose shirt that has a hello kitty head printed on the front.

She stared at herself on the vanity mirror; her body looks great, her outfit looks nice but she always thinks that her face always ruins everything. She rolled her eyes and went down to the kitchen to have some breakfast. As she reached the kitchen, she noticed that the back door was wide open.
