He almost wanted this attempt on All Might to fail because of this. But not quite.
He'd almost given in. Not gotten back up. Failed.
A word came back to him, one used at some point to describe him. He didn't remember who used it, except that they used to be... Friends? That's the correct term, yes? No, not to describe what they became.
He'd been broken by that one.
So he forgot him.
A portal opened in front of him.
Izuku Midoriya smiled and stepped through, his time to shine at hand.
