"Please Stay..."

Chapter 2

I approached Nepeta in an awkward fashion. I was terrified that I would say something rude to her, that would ruin everything. I am- UGH DAMN IT.

        "Hey Karkitt- Oh Oops! I furrgot you didn't want me to call you that anymore Hehe," she giggled to herself.
        I'm going to be completely honest here. I somewhat enjoyed being Karkitty. The fact that someone is able to take the time to come up with an adorable stupid nickname for me, makes me feel like someone can actually tolerate me, and it makes me the slightest bit happy, as much as I don't want to admit it, it was true.

        "Oh..Er-." DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE SAY IT. "It's fine, I actually-" KARKAT FUCKASS VANTAS I AM WARNING YOU DO NOT SAY IT. " like when you call me that ridiculous nickname." GOD DAMN IT.

        I felt my face go red. I just admired my shoelaces. God, I am such an idiot. I quickly glance back at her, but she ends up catching my eye. She was perked up, with a twinkle in her eyes. I noticed her giggle underneath her breath and she started to ruffle her skirt. She noticed me looking at her, and pat the open space next to her to her on the blanket. I sat down, carefully, and she just continued to smile.

        "Oh!" Nepeta squealed "I almost furrgot!" She searched through a bag on the oposite side I was sitting on. She then pulled out a rectangular object and a cup, that i was guessing was filled with a drink. She handed them both to me. Picking up the rectagular object, I questioned what it was. It was slightly squishy, What The Hell?!..

        "What the fuck is this?!" I questioned. "Its all squishy and warm..!"

        "You have to open it, Silly!" She laughed. I unwrapped the thin paper covering whatever was inside.

          "I was thinking that you didn't eat breakfast, because you never really do," she added on.

        It was a breakfast burrito. I love breakfast burritos.

        "How did you know I love these?" I questioned. I was about to take a bite when I realized "I can't accept this. You wasted your money on me. I have to pay you back."

        She looked me in the eyes "Its fine, really. You don't owe me anything" I noticed her face get red. I picked up the burrito and took a bite.

        "Oh...Thanks, ...Nepeta" UGH WHAT AM I EVEN SAYING AT THIS POINT!?!?! I SOUND LIKE AN IDIOT.

        "Really, Its not a problem at all." she giggled. "Any time" She pulled out something from the bag for herself.

        We continued to eat our breakfast, and joked about our friends for what seamed like hours. I noticed that i somehow got extremly close to Nepeta. She looked down at my hands nervously. Playing with the sleaves of her jacket, she looked extremely uncomfortable. I watched her for a minute or so, but she tried to move her hair to cover her face. I always wondered what she was thinking. I had an idea.

        I looked down at her hands, and quickly snatch them, intertwining her figners with my own. I could feel the blood rush to my face. FUCK.....!! WHAT NOW.

        "You looked nervous for some reason er..- and um...." DAMN IT I DONT KNOW WHAT I AM DOING AT THIS POINT!

        She smiled at me and squeezed my hand tighter, leaning closer to me. I just sighed, blushing heavily. She looked at me and smiled.

        Several jokes later, Nepeta stood up. Still holding my hand, she pulled me up with her.

        "What are you even doing, Nepeta?!" I quiestioned her, a puzzled look on my face.

        Naturally, I let her guide me to where ever the hell she was taking me. Her grip became stronder and she started to pick up her pace, dragging me behind her. She then lead me to a tree. Okay, wow.

"Do you remember this tree?" she turned to me and smiled. I did remember it, but I didnt want to sound li- UGH NEVER MIND (-_-) "Because of this tree, I met you!" Nepeta leaped up the tree, like a cat, "I remember you were down there, about what 10 years ago? We were at this park for some sort of kinergarden field trip and Gamzee, Sollux, and you were standing in that very spot," She pointed down at where I was standing. "You guys where playing some silly game. And then me and Equius were sitting right now.." her voice trailed off, "He told me he didn't like Gamzee all too much. I er-" She stopped.

        Their was a party a few months ago, and Nepeta and Equius were talkng on the balcony. They were just minding their own buisness, but Gamzee aproached Nepeta. Something was wrong with him, and I was guessing he drank way too much. He started to get way too close to Nepeta, in an extemely sexual matter, and you could tell Nepeta wasn't in the least bit okay with what he was doing. Equius attempted to stop him but Gamzee just resisted and shoved him to the ground. Equius than got back to his feet, and tried to move him away but Equius recieved Gamzee's fist in his face, and was pushed to the edge of the balcony. Gamzee, with all of his might, pushed Equius off a 30 foot drop, and it was the last we saw of both of them. Equius was Nepeta's best friend for, who knows how long. He was like a brother to her but more.

        She burried her face into the sleeves of her jacket and sat on the branch of the tree. I hurried up the tree. SHIT. NO, NO, NO. PLEASE DON'T BE SAD.

        I just sat there in silence. She looked at me, tears in her eyes. I just wrapped myarms around her. She cried into the sleave of my sweater.

        I didn't know what to do. I felt like I wasn't good enough for her, but i just want to make her happy.
