BENTLEY MOONSHINE AND VEGA BLACK both came from very powerful, well-respected pure-blood wizarding families. It was what some people would call 'Love At First Sight'. This is what resulted in their accident, Ariana Amora Moonshine.

Blond hair that flew a little way past her shoulders, small lips that you could often find smiling, dark, honey brown eyes that you couldn't help but get lost in. Her birth showed the newly made parents what unconditional love was.

Which was why when they died, Ariana was devastated. Her parent's sudden absence confused the child, who was all but six at the time of their death. Her cries echoed throughout the halls of the orphanage before she was taken by Victoria and Irving Moonshine, parents of Bentley. But being the daughter of two highly respected people didn't stop her from being treated cruelly.

The young witch was the talk of Hogwarts at the mere age of thirteen. Everyone, both male and female loved her. She had unbelievable looks as well as an amazing personality, something very hard to come by in adults, let alone a child.

On August 31th 1993, lights seemed to spill out of every opening of Moonshine Manor. The large building held what looked to be almost every pure-blood family in their usual formal attire. For the last three years, the Moonshines held a ball for their grand-daughter to wish her another great year at Hogwarts. What those stuck up pure-bloods didn't know, was that everything was only for show.

What they also didn't know, was that in the deepest part of that mansion, in the cellar hidden away by charms, laid a small girl panting with tears in her eyes. A few feet away stood a woman looking down on the young girl in disgust.

"You're a disgrace to your family! A Slytherin befriending Gryffindors! You are to never speak or even look at them again! Do you hear me!" Victoria Moonshine, her grandmother, yelled at her.

The blonde girl looked up at the woman slowly, her eyes filled with both fear and confidence. She knew what was to happen to her if she were to say the words that bubbled in her throat, but she knew it was worth it. "B-but t-there my f-friends." She spoke squeezing her eyes shut knowing what was to come.

        "Crucio!"

As red sparks flew from her wand and hit the girl, painful cries filled the room. Victoria smirked at the girl squirmed on the cold, hard, stone floor. She found joy in setting the good for nothing girl straight. As quick as the action was made, it was over and left a girl dripping in her own sweat and tears.

"Grandmother, the Greenway family has arrived and wish to speak to you." a sudden voice called from the now open cellar door. Ariana turned her head to see a blurred version of Andy Moonshine, her cousin. He looked down at his cousin and winced at the sight. Victoria glanced at the boy, before looking back at the twitching blonde.

"Do clean yourself up and get upstairs. You have guests." the woman said as she wiping off her long black gown and with that, the woman walked out of the room without another glance to the girl. Despite the pain flowing throughout her body, Ariana stood with the help of Andy.

"Are you alright?" The fifteen-year-old asked concerned as they took the back staircase to Ariana's bedroom, which unfortunately for her happened to be on the top floor. Ariana smiled and nodded and continued to climb the stairs.

Ten minutes later, Ariana could be seen in the ballroom smiling at the other pure-blood families that came to wish her a great year. She wore a sliver dress that stopped at her knees and green heels with other green accessories to show her pride in being a Slytherin, like she did every year.

Oh, how Andy wished things turned out differently that night as he watched the girls fake smiles from a distance.
