December the 8th 1941It was just a peaceful summer. A summer spent with family. A summer spent having unforgettable, wonderful memories.
But those memories had to end as new ones had begun to form. Definitely unforgettable memories but not wonderful. No where near wonderful. Because once you're there, once you're there with the guns, the shooting and your life on the line, nothing is no-longer wonderful.

Charlotte lay on the lawn staring up at the clear, blue sky as marshmellow clouds floated along. The beating sun blazed onto her as the warmth spread throughout her body. For once she enjoyed the weather; unlike normal with the pouring rain in England - holidays were bliss.
Beside her lay both a little girl and boy of different ages but of similar appearance. The moment was both perfect and blissful but of course it didn't last that long, because siblings normally get into fights. This was one of those moments when Hattie and William both decided to point out the same cloud, but with different ideas of what it looked like.
"A rabbit!" Cried out William, simultaneously with Hattie who instead decided that the 'rabbit' cloud was indeed,
"A duck!"Like two ferocious cats they immediately pounced onto each other, beginning a verbal fight but most importantly ruining the moment, that until then, had been thoroughly enjoyed by Charlotte.
"Its a duck!" Yelled Hattie to her brother
"No, it's obviously a rabbit you're just stupid!" William yelled back.
"I'm cleverer than you cause I'm the oldest and I know best!" Continued Hattie, "so it's a duck!"
"You're still stupid!" Retorted William ignoring the fact that he was still two years younger.
Charlotte could see that the siblings were beginning to get into a full flown battle and she knew, from the time she had been spending with her cousin and his family, that once it gets to this stage, you have to stop them otherwise somebody would get hurt.
But before she could even open her mouth, her cousin had already walked out into the garden yelling
"Hattie! William!"
Immediately, both children stopped their quarrelling and stood to attention at their father.
"What's happening at the moment?" He questioned in a smoother tone.
If this goes like normal, they're just going to tell him everything then be forgiven for everything - even ruining my rare moment of peace and quiet.
Thought Charlotte sighing as, like she had predicted, everything just rolled out the exact same way it always did. With a dismissal, the children ran off inside so that Charlotte was left with Robert.
He signalled for them to go inside into the living room. Already sat there were her parents and Roberts wife, all in deadly silence. Without anybody saying a word, Charlotte already knew what this family meeting was going to be about.
