**Lexi's POV - Runs parallel to the previous chapter**
"Call me when you land in L.A?" Lexi asked, her arms wrapped around her husband's neck. They stood in front of their Colts Neck home, David's bags being packed into the back of a luxury SUV by Natalie and security guard Mike.
"Have I ever forgotten to call you before?" David replied with a smile. Lexi shook her head as David pulled her close and kissed her. "Still would be nice if you were coming with me."
Lexi forced a smile and shrugged. "I'd hate to ignore the creative binge I've been on." David nodded and kissed her once more.
"Ready, boss?" Mike asked.
"Let's hit the road," David said, climbing into the car and joining Natalie. He waved to Lexi as the car backed out of the driveway. Lexi's eyes narrowed once they were through the gate and out of sight.
It had been difficult kissing David with her suspicion mounting inside her brain. He had always been a flirty man, maybe even a womanizer in the past. Sure his eyes would wander now and then, but what man didn't glance at other women?
'Oh get over yourself, Alexandria! He doesn't have feelings for her...but what about all the time they spent together? And the day before yesterday?' Lexi thought to herself, both sides fighting the battle.
Part of her hoped to God she was wrong...the other part knew she wasn't. Every time that assistant of his was in the same room, there was a palpable change in the air. It wasn't an angry or hostile tension, or even stress between an employer and employee.
It was...sexual tension. Covert glances being exchanged at gatherings, verbal and physical teasing, or the rough play fighting. Lexi shook her head slowly walked back towards the house, pulling her shawl slightly tighter around her shoulders and shivered. Did he really think she was that stupid?
He didn't seem interested in sex with her, no matter how she attempted to seduce him. It couldn't be working exhausting him. Bon Jovi was on a three-year break, so the only work he had was composing was for a musical.
But he WAS exhausted when he came to bed, and Lexi knew he would close himself off if confronted.
Lexi stood in the doorway of Natalie's room in her robe. "David? Are you coming to bed? You could spend some time with me, ya know," Lexi complained, fed up with her husband's negligence.
"Yeah, just give us a minute," Dave replied annoyed. He could feel his patience growing thin with his wife's nagging. Lexi had always been like this, but it had only grown worse when Natalie moved in.
"No, Dave. Not one minute...Now," she demanded. Lexi placed one hand on her hip and leaned against the door frame. Her eyes flashed at her husband, demanding answers for his effort in such a lost cause.
David glared up at his wife and growled, "One...fucking...minute." Lexi banged the wall with her fist, her lips thinned as her anger and jealousy grew inside her. David was HER husband, HER life partner...she didn't want to share him with anyone.
She rolled her eyes and went back to their bedroom, flinging herself onto her back and suppressing the urge to scream. Lexi rolled onto her side and propped herself on an arm, positioning one leg over the other. If this didn't get his mind away from that...assistant, then nothing would.
David stopped in the doorway when he saw Lexi laying on their bed; her body clad in small red lingerie and red heels. He simply sighed and laid down on the bed, his wife playing with his hair and ears. "Come on, Lexi. I'm exhausted so can't you just leave me alone tonight?"
