First day at campus: Chapter Two
I was woken to a loud boom and a yelp, it was my roommate; she had fallen off the sofa and was now on the floor stretching. She noticed me and jumped up, she had black shoulder length hair, dark brown eyes and she was wearing a pair of shorts with a One Direction tank top.
"You must be Elle?" She yawned.
"And you must be my worst nightmare," I said referring to the clothes that were scattered across the room, she blushed from embarrassment.
"Oh... right, sorry about that I'll pick them up now." She started by throwing her suitcase onto her bed, nearly taking me out if I didn't duck.
"Oops, sorry again," she waved apologetically, I could already tell she would be a bit of a pain to deal with for the first few weeks.
As soon as she was done she threw herself into her bed; letting out a loud sigh from exhaustion.
"Long trip?" I assumed and she nodded, she explained that she travelled here from France. I was shocked but also excited, I've always wanted to visit France.
"I know it may sound rude but how come you don't have a French accent?" I regretted asking that as soon as the words slipped, but she didn't seem bothered.
"I was originally from America but moved to France when I was ten because of my dad's job, where are you from?" She asked giving me a friendly smile.
"Los Angeles, California," I responded; her eyes widen from amazement.
"I've always wanted to visit!" She said a bit too over excited and put on a fake Californian accent making me burst out into laughter. I guess you can never judge a book by its cover, this girl was going to be great company.
"So are you going to check out campus today?" She asked with a hopeful smile, I nodded and gave her a smile.
"Can I come with you?"
"Love, you don't even need to ask," I assured her and she smiled, this made me happy.
"So what's your name crazy girl?" I giggled, she playfully rolled her eyes and smiled.
"Kim." She smiled before grabbing an outfit out of her suitcase and dashing into the bathing; tripping slightly on the way making me laugh once again.
Me and Kim walked out our room and down the hall; surprisingly it wasn't packed like I thought it would be, it was really quiet and nice.
"So, do you have a boyfriend?" She asked giving me a wink and a nudge, I laughed lightly and smiled.
"Yeah I do, his names Noah," hearing his name automatically made me smile; Kim made an awe face and smiled.
"Does he go here?"
"Yeah he does, but I haven't yet told him that I got in yet so I'm planning on surprising him at some point."
"Cute! I'm just going to third wheel so hard," she sighed making me chuckle slightly.
We headed out the main doors and was instantly met with a crowd of people walking, but somehow I managed to spot Noah. My heart started racing from excitement and my stomach felt like it had butterflies, I was snapped back into reality by Kim waving her arm infront of me.
"Hello? Earth to Elle?" I shook my head and looked over at her, she had a confused look on her face.
"I just spotted him!" I almost screamed when I said this, she scratched her head.
"Noah?"
"Yes! Who else?""I don't know," she shrugged.
"When are you planning on surprising him?" She asked; I thought for a second. I was probably going to ask Lee if he could text him or something to go to a certain location, but would that be too obvious?
"I'll think about that later, now are you ready?" She nodded in response and gave me a huge grin before wrapping her arm around mine and we skipped happily across campus.
Time seemed to slip faster then usual as the excitement of being here overwhelmed me and Kim. I only saw Noah maybe twice since this morning, he still hasn't noticing that I'm standing on the same ground as him right now.
"So I have a plan," announced Kim as she chewed her food and pointed her fork at me.
"You should surprise him at his dorm room." This was actually a good idea, after all he had the whole dorm to himself since his roommate had been kicked out a months ago, I knew this because he told me while I FaceTime him.
"You know what? That sounds perfect," I thought about what I was going to say, what he was going to do and what he was going to think. Kim smiled and opened up a can of monster, her third one today.
"I'm surprised you aren't bouncing off the walls," I giggled as I watched her chug half the can in seven seconds.
"Oh, yeah the sugar doesn't really affect me like It used to." She assured, I nodded slowly and sat back in my chair. We had already explored this place top to bottom in about three hours, I knew that if I was going to surprise Noah I needed to think fast.
Kim unlocked our door and kicked it in. She sat herself on her bed and kicked her shoes off, I just smiled and sat on the sofa. I had already thought of what I was going to do, I was going let myself into his dorm (knowing him he probably had forgotten to lock his door) and wait for him to finish class.
I already knew what his door number was, so I quickly put on my shoes and headed outside.
"Be back in a bit." I told Kim before closing the door behind me and pacing down the long hallway; looking at my phone every few seconds to see if I would get a text from Noah or Lee.
I eventually found Noah's door, trying the door handle and sure enough it swung open. This boys going to get himself murdered if he doesn't start locking his door, I thought to myself as I closed it behind me. His dorm had the same layout as me, but instead of there being two beds there was only one and it was on the left side of the room.
Twenty minutes have passed and Noah still hadn't returned. I was beginning to count random objects I could find in his room, football shoes, trophies, mints and even a McDonald's burger wrapper. Just as boredom was taking over I heard someone walk over to the door, pushing it in and swinging open. I smiled as his dark eyes met with mine as those deep dimples displayed perfectly on his face.
