Colby: Chapter Five

The weekend went faster then expected, I guess time flies when you're having fun. Seeing Noah was the best thing ever and not once did I think about Verionica and her threat.
I walked with Kim, Dalton and Colby into class. Of course Kim and Dalton were giving each other goo goo eyes as we found our seats.
"So how was your weekend?" Asked Colby as he took a seat next to me, while Kim and Dalton were making out in the corner.
"Amazing, me and Noah went on a movie date on friday and after that I spent the rest of the weekend at his dorm," I responded smiling.
   "Noah?" He asked.
"Oh, he's my boyfriend." Colby nodded slowly and fixed his hair, he glanced over to Kim and Dalton before looking back at me.
"I hope you guys aren't like that?" He chuckled, I chuckled also not daring to look what was going on behind me.
"So um.. I was wondering if you would like to hang out more? I mean you're chill and I like that about you," he smiled as he said this with hope.
"Of course, I'm free today if you want?" I responded, his face lit up when I said this.
"Perfect, we can go and walk down to this beach me and Dalton usually go to?" He explained, I nodded. I missed the beach at home, so going there would hopefully raise my spirits.
"I'll meet you after classes at your dorm." He said finally before drawing his attention over to what was being said by the teacher.
Colby was a really nice guy, he reminded me a bit of Lee. I missed Lee like mad, this is the first time ever that we are separated for more then a few days.
Classes seemed to go faster then expected today, normally it would drag for eternity.
I walked back to my dorm, quickly throwing on some sandals, shorts and a black off the shoulders t-shirt with colourful tropical flowers on it. As soon as I was done I heard the door knock, I opened it and there he was.
   "You look nice," he smiled.
"Thankyou, you ready?" I asked, he nodded in response and I followed him out of the building and off campus.
We walked downhill for most of the time, but soon the beach was now in sight.
"So how long have you and Noah known each other?" He asked, I looked up at him.
"I know it may sound cliche but basically my whole life. Me and his younger brother Lee are best friends," I explained, he raised an eyebrow.
"Was Lee ok with you and his older brother going out?" He asked.
"Well over the years we had made some rules, the main one was we couldn't date each other's siblings. It was alright for him because I have a brother that's way younger then the both of us, but for me it was super difficult because I fancied Noah when I was younger." My story sounded very bizzar to him but he managed to keep up.
"At first me and Noah kept our relationship a secret from everyone, even our families. Don't get me wrong, I really wanted to tell Lee. But I also didn't want this to hurt our friendship, so I backed down many times."
"When did you tell him?" Asked Colby, he kept up as much as he could while I was explaining it to him.
"Oh I didn't.." I responded, he raised his eyebrow in confusion.
"Did Noah tell him?" He asked, I shook my head.
We were now on the beach, the sun setting made it look so much more beautiful then ever. It was now that orange and pink ombre colour, the setting sun sparkling reflection against the water.
"He found out," I began. "While Noah was fixing his bike I fell over in his workshop trying to grab a screwdriver. Noah rushed to help me and as he was cleaning my cut up from my cheek Lee walked in."
"Oh god, how did that end up?" He asked, I smiled weakly remembering what had come up next. I explained the rest of the story, Colby was in shock at my story.
"Is it all cool now with you guys?" He asked, I smiled and nodded.
"Yeah we are, I'm happy it didn't destroy the friendship we both held onto for our whole lives."
We found a spot and sat down, the sound of crashing waves reminded me so much of home.
"So enough about me, tell me about yourself?" I asked, he looked at me and smiled.
"Well my story won't be as crazy as yours," he warned, I nodded slowly.
"Me and Dalton have been best friends since the start also, he's like a brother to me and I always look up to him. I was an orphan and my adopted family hated me for some reason.." he paused taking a breath, I put my hand on his shoulder.
"So after many arguments with my adopted family Dalton's family decided to take me in as their own, made me a room and everything." He smiled as he said this.
"Dalton's mum and dad are really hard working and I'll be forever grateful for all the hard work and effort they put into having me. But there's always gonna be a part of my past that I'll never forget." I looked at him and smiled as he looked back at me.
"So, tell me a bit more about yourself Elle." He chuckled, I chuckled also as I started telling him some embarrassing high school stories; the minutes slowly dragging on.
