A few weeks passed before Luke was fully healed, and overprotective Leia let him out of bed. The Rebel Fleet had left Endor a few days after Han and Luke's return, and Luke had been (in his own words) imprisoned in the new medical frigate. It wasn't so bad, Leia and Han had kept him company, and his other rescuer, the Togruta called Ahsoka Tano also stuck around and often talked with Luke. She even taught him a few healing Force techniques, including a family of Force trances called curators salva, and the ability to boost someone else's stamina, vigor and courage.

But better yet were the talks they had. One day Ahsoka had revealed she had known his father and fought alongside him and Obi-Wan Kenobi. She had then asked about Anakin and Vader, and if he was at peace. Luke had solemnly, but gladly given Ahsoka peace over the fact that her master had never truly died, that there had been good in him. He had just needed the right push, from the right person. This made Ahsoka very happy, and it seemed a weight had been lifted from her shoulders when Luke gave her such good news. And a friendship between the apprentice and the son began to form tightly.

When Luke was released from the medbay however, Ahsoka declared she would be leaving. There was much she had to do, and her assistance here was no longer needed according to the Force.

Luke, Han and Leia all waved farewell as Ahsoka boarded her ship and took off the day after her declaration of leaving. And then they were left together, back home together.

"I'm sure she will be back to teach you more about the Force." Leia said once the ship was out of sight, glancing at Luke who offered a tiny smile.

"Maybe, but even if she didn't, I wouldn't mind." Luke replied lightly as Leia turned, and the trio started towards the exit of the large hangar.

"And why's that Kid?" Han asked with curiosity. "I thought you liked having Jedi around to teach you all the wizard stuff." He said with a smirk, nudging Luke's arm with his elbow in a playful gesture.

Leia gave Han an eyeroll before looking to her brother as Luke answered coolly. "I don't need a Jedi teacher when I have you two." Luke said with a definite nod. "You're both all I need, besides the wedding date. I think you both should set one soon."

Han and Leia exchanged blushing glances before laughing and nodding along with Luke.
"Alright Kid, Leia and I will get started on that, since there's no telling when you'll be shot again." Han quipped as they left the hangar and headed onward to the cafeteria for a bite to eat.

"Don't talk of such things," Leia said in an admonishing, yet teasing tone. "Let's just hope it never happens again."

"I agree with Leia, but I'm sure glad you both have my back." Luke stated with a much wider smile.

"So are we Kid." Han replied with a grin, draping an arm around Luke's shoulders while Leia hugged Luke's waist from the other side with her arm. The trio now linked together with a cheerful, familial bond.

Yeah, Luke almost died, and he definitely didn't want to do all that again, but Luke didn't fear the future either. He had his sister, and he had a future brother-in-law. They were family, and family would never leave eachother to suffer alone. Whether it be emotional or physical pains.

Talking with Ahsoka had also alleviated his emotional state, and Luke decided he would stop dwelling on the past. His father was at peace, he had a sister, a best friend, a family. Luke would cherish the memory of his father, and look to the future with optimism and Han and Leia at his side.

He was finally back home.

The End.
