The following day was just the same, I tuned in to their game to support her. Except this time, I fell asleep. What is nakakahiya.

Believe it or not, I tried so hard to keep myself awake but I guess when you’re tired, you’re tired. No amount of caffeine kept me awake last night. One minute I was holding my phone, waiting for updates, the next I was fast asleep.

I woke up panicking that I might miss the game entirely. True enough, I did. Flooded na ako ng mga updates, saying na nakatulog daw ako. I learned that La Salle won so good news naman. Nakakainis lang talaga, bakit ngayon pa ako inantok.

I replied to the fans, just to give them a heads up na I’m here.

I was scrolling through my notifs so that I could read some of the tweets about the game yesterday when suddenly I get a viber message from Mika.

Mika Reyes: Kina-career!

It was a heads up!

I immediately requested to facetime her.

“Good morning, Phenom!” salubong niya sakin.

“Good evening, Superstar! Tired?”

“Very!”

“Excited matulog? What time na ba there? Naka-PJs agad oh!” I teased, laughing.

“7 PM na po, Phenom. Normal na to. Eh ikaw? What time na ba dyan at hanggang ngayon naka PJs ka pa rin? Ano? Tamad lang bumangon? May practice ka pa huy!”

“No practice po kami today. Pasunod na sila Thirds. They’re in Seattle na. And we’ll watch the BMAs later. So… Chill day indeed.”

“BMAs?” she looked confused.

“Billboard Music Awards.”

“Omg! For real? Shut up, no way!!!”

Natawa ako ng malakas sa reaction niya. I never knew she’d fangirl this hard. Brutal na eh.

“For real, babe.”

“Omg ka! How dare you watch it without me! Ughhhhh. Kainis. So unfair!”

I laughed at her reaction na may matching rolling of eyes pa. Hindi naman kaya maging masungit dahil kahit anong gawin ang cute pa rin.

“Ughhh. Darn it! Why are you such a cutie???” I say, sounding frustrated. I wanted to pinch her cheeks right then and there. Kainis why do I have to be so far?

“Why are you so madaya? Kainis ka. Nanood ka na nga nong kay Daniel, ngayon naman manonood ka ng BMAs. MIA nanaman ako!”

“Wow huh… It’s not my fault naman na you had training back then. Tapos now naman you have a big game.” I tried to sound serious but with the look on her face, natatawa lang ako, “Don’t worry, B. Promise, bawi ako when I get back. Nood tayo movies as much as you want.”

“Ehhhhh. That’s a different thing naman.” She was playfully throwing tantrums. Alam kong tampo talaga but I can’t help it. Ang cute talaga, I can’t even compare.

“So ayaw mo?”

She shook her head.

“Hmmmm… Kahit bilhan kita ng ice cream?”
