"Mom! I'm home!" I screamed closing the front door behind me.
"Hold on I'm changing Armani!"
I sighed going to the couch to sit. I was quietly bracing myself for the long, tired out speech she was about to come down here and give me.
I am very grateful for her but I could do without all the down talk on me and my child. She constantly reminds me that she's helping me and that she's paying for this and paying for that. It's like I fucking know that! You would think she's be happy to just do it for her grandson, but nope!
She never complains when it comes to my older sister or her kids. But because it's me I get all the heat from her on a daily.
"Mommy!"
I smiled seeing my three year old son holding his arms up to me.
Yes I got pregnant at 14 but I don't regret it. My son is the best thing that's ever happened to me.
"I really missed you today mommy." Armani mumbled with his face in my neck.
"Aww I missed you more bubba. How was your day?" I asked rubbing my hand up and down his back.
"Very good mommy! I played at the park and I ate spaghetti O's!"
I smiled going to his cheeks giving him kisses. "Well I'm happy you had a good day bud."
I could feel my moms eyes on me. "What?"
"Don't what me Y/N, where in the hell have you been?"
"I just decided to hang out with Kandi and Drake for a while after school."
"You decided? Without asking me first?"
I groaned knowing where this conversation was headed. "Didn't think it was necessary."
"Well of course it's necessary when I'm stuck here watching your child!"
"When you're stuck?"
She nodded before shrugging her shoulders.
"Glad to know that I'm such a big burden. But don't worry I won't be here for long. Me and my son will leave."
"Oh stop being so dramatic!" I chose to ignore her and put my attention back on my son.
You see this is exactly what I was talking about. It's always the same thing with her. She makes it seem like I'm crazy for being upset but then she talks like that around Armani. He doesn't need to hear his own grandmother talk down on him.
"Be dressed when I get back." I looked up seeing her grabbing her jacket, purse and keys.
Ummm what? "What, why?"
"We're going out to dinner later tonight."
I raised my eyebrow up at her as I bounced Armani in my arms.
"So we have to do that tonight?"
She nodded. "Yes we do. Ariana just got here and I want us to all sit around and have a nice dinner."
I felt my heart drop. I'm hoping that I heard wrong, I know my own mother wouldn't do me like that. She wouldn't go against me.
"Umm I'm sorry what?"
She shrugged. "Yes her, Frankie and Joan will be here."
"Mom are you kidding me! Why would you do that when you know my situation!"
"I'm still good friends with Joan. Don't question me and just be ready."
"Mom I have to cheer tonight." I said hoping she would just let this go but with just my luck she didn't.
"Well too bad, we've already made these plans and I'm not changing them."
"God! Why can't you just have this stupid dinner without me!"
"You do not raise your voice to me in my home!"
"Ugh I can't wait til I get my own place then neither of us would have to worry about it!"
I stomped my ear upstairs to my room with my baby.
God I can not believe her! I mean what kind of mother is she to do something like that without even concerning me first!
But I should expect shit like this from her. It's like she doesn't care about me or my child at all.
I laid on my bed with Armani still in my arms. He had his little arms wrapped around my neck and I knew he could tell I was upset.
"It ok mommy."
I closed my eyes tightly and sighed rubbing his back. "I'm so sorry baby. Mommy is sorry."
God make this night go by quickly.
