Xander's POV:

Rubbing my eyes tiredly from the long sleep, my heavy eyelids soon fluttered open gently as my ears welcomed the gentle pitter patter of the rain as it danced against the surface of the slightly opened windows, creating a soothing melody. Propping myself up slowly, I took in a deep breath of the comforting morning rain before releasing a soft sigh. Seeing the drops trickle down my window brought a sense of calmness within me. My worries and stress got drained away with every breath of fresh air I took. I love rainy days, it's like my guilty pleasure.

Slowly and gently, I ran my hand through Kye's hair, stroking his head tenderly as he slept comfortably by the side of my hospital bed. Taking the comforter off myself, I draped it lightly over his relaxed shoulders, shifting his fringe away from his face and tucking them behind his small ears. A soft smile formed on my lips as I watched him mumble adorably in his sleep. He's so precious...

Like a soft rustle of leaves, the doors slide open to reveal a doctor in his 50s standing there with a clipboard in hand as he stared at me with a slightly shock look which soon turned into a warm smile, his grey hairs were all over the place like he haven't taken a rest for years yet his eyes are refreshed and alert, showing the softest and genuine care and concern. "Good to see you awake, Mr Helbram."

"Thanks, Doctor..."

"Lennon. Doctor Lennon. How are you feeling? Any pain or discomforts? The blow to your head resulted in you suffering a mild concussion so if there's any pain in your head or anywhere else, please do inform me."

"I'm feeling fine, Doctor Lennon." I replied honestly, earning a satisfied nod from him. "How long have I been out?"

"Counting from the time you've been admitted, I'll say around 1 and a half day. Your husband never left your side the whole time, what a great person you've found." He commented with a gently smile on his face, his soft eyes staying on Kye's sleeping figure as a chuckle left his lips. Husband huh... sounds nice.

"Thanks, Mr Lennon. I think so too. He's the greatest." I said, resting my hand over his when he stirred slightly in his sleep. As if on instinct, he flipped his hand over to interlock his fingers with mine, clenching them lightly yet firmly as my heart fluttered at that small action. "When can I leave?"

"I'll suggest that you give yourself 2 more days just to be sure. I'll run some tests on you and if everything is fine, you will be released by then. I'll be taking my leave now, Mr Helbram. Remember to call for me or any of the nurses around if you feel any discomfort ok? Don't keep it to yourself." He repeated for the second time like a naggy dad before leaving with a wide smile on his face after I had mock-saluted at him. He's such a nice doctor, kinda reminds me of my dad.

Well, my parents died in a plane crash on the way back from their holiday when I've just started my job so I've been living alone since then. Days were gloomy and dark until Matthew came into my family, he's basically the one that gave me life. Now, I not only have him but Kye too, who gave me light to my life. He makes me feel complete and warm inside, like a proper family. He made me feel alive once more and I can't help but fall deeper and deeper in love with him as the days goes by.

Placing a kiss on his forehead, he stirred slightly but this time, his eyes slowly fluttered open as he stared at me with a shock look on his face, tears continuing to well up in his eyes despite him wiping his tears furiously with the back of his hand. Soft sniffling sounds filled the air as he sobbed into his hands, tears dripping through his fingers making my heart clench painfully at that sight. Lifting him up from the chair, I set him on my lap facing me before wrapping my arms around him, stroking his warm slender back comfortingly as he shook in my arms. He buried his face into the crook of my neck while gripping onto my shoulders tightly. Thinking of what I've put him though, I mentally cursed myself for giving him such a scare as I whispered apologies into his ear.

"You scared me. I-I... I was so afraid. I didn't know what to do." He cried out in pain, his broken voice scarred my heart as I vowed to not make him cry like that again.

"I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry, Kye. I wasn't thinking. My body just moved on its own when I saw the glass panel toppling over and you're just...there. I couldn't bare to see you hurt. But I'm fine, see? So don't cry okay?" I reassured, wiping the falling tears from his blotchy tear-stained face as he sniffed lightly, hands fisting my hospital gown. He still looks beautiful nonetheless.

Resting my forehead against his lightly, he leaned against the contact, tears still rolling down his cheek but not as much as before. Taking his fists into my hands, I wrapped my larger hands around his fists before bringing them up to my lips, placing soft kisses on his fingers and knuckles. In the midst of it, a slight warmth came into contact with my cheek as I looked up to see Kye with flushed cheeks. It took me a second to register in my brain what had happened but the data was soon over-written when he pressed his lips against mine, staying in that position until the feeling to his soft lips still continues to linger against my chapped ones.

"Maybe I should get hurt more often." I joked, earning a light smack to my shoulders as Kye pouted at my insensitiveness yet, a smile graced his lips nonetheless. Man, he's stunning.

"If you dare get hurt again, I'll kick your ass for sure. Got it?" He warned, not so jokingly. But man, that was hot.

"Yes love." Placing a light peck on his cheek, he blushed a very faint shade of red before burrowing himself against my frame as I wrapped my arms securely around him. Together, we stayed in this position as we immersed ourselves in the soft melodies of the rain, no words were spoken as none was needed. All we needed was the comfort of each other.
