Mae's POV

When I got back to the cabin later that night, I unlocked the door, entered and switched on the light. I slipped off my snickers and sat down on the couch. I have no interest in putting on the television so I went upstairs to the second room I dropped my bag earlier

I brought out my laptop to get some works done, I did that for an hour before I heard the bell from downstairs, who could that be? I wasn't expecting anyone it wasn't as if I knew lots of people in this town except those I just met today at the funeral. The time said 8:42pm. I slipped on my slippers and went to answer the door. I opened the door to see a girl about my age  maybe a year younger or so. She's flawless and pretty, an inch shorter than I am, green eyes with flickers of blue, dark shiny wavy hair, she's putting on a pair of black Jean with a top and jacket, she has a petite round face.

"Hi, I'm Tracy, we haven't met, that's because I wasn't in town for the funeral so I couldn't make it there which I apologize for. I was like 30miles away from town before I was called in by someone well you could say a bull headed male who thinks he has a better judgment than others, can you imagine a male telling you what to do and what not to do? Oh! And I'm sorry about your grams she was a lovely lady, I loved her more when she used her ma.. " she suddenly stopped.

What's her deal, who is she? But she seems harmless and she's pretty, well that doesn't mean she isn't a serial killer for all I know. And what did she mean by someone called her and what did she say my grams did to the guy she was referring to.

"hello to you too, You might have known already, my name is Mae, and thanks I appreciate, thanks for coming " I'm not in the mood to entertain or welcome a company, I moved to closed the door but she stopped me and gave me which I think was her biggest smile.

" Don't close the door please I'm not through and sorry for my ramblings I tend to do that a lot when I'm nervous, it's not as if I have things to be nervous about or I want to do things I should be nervous about but ahh! I did it again" She rolled her eyes I'm  not sure if it was for me or not. "I'm gonna cut the bullshit and go straight to the point" I was getting really curious now because in movies this is the part they tell you to move quietly inside a van or it's the time when they bring out a gun. She just laughed as if she knew what I was thinking about, it's not funny!

"oh! I'm sorry I had to, calm down babe, you really need to see your face. I am not a serial killer" she laughed more and finally stopped. I was a little amused at the situation also, well you can't fault me for thinking about that.

"I just want to make friends with you, that didn't come out well right? Well.. What I mean is that I want us to be friends not that I want to make friends with you, I don't want it to be a one sided thing  like I should be your friend but you don't consider me as your friend, that's some shitty situation. Someone would have my head if I don't. What I'm saying.. "she didn't get to finish before I started laughing as well, she's something really, she rambles a lot that's for sure. I then noticed she was carrying something with her. She seems harmless so I invited her in.

" I'm also sorry I had to laugh, you can come in then." She then smiled showcasing her perfect dentition.

"oh! Thank heavens, I don't know what I would have done if you had rejected me" she wiped a fake tears. I knew I would no doubt like her. She then engulfed me in a hug.

"okay okay it's not as if I have lots of friends in this town so I could make use of one" I smiled at her. We entered and I locked the door, she sat herself down in the couch I stood up from earlier and set down the nylon on the table and brought out burgers and drinks. I like her then and there, seriously my weak point is food.
