Chapter Five:

"Huh?" he grunted while looking up from Asta to her. "What the hell do you want?" he questioned trying his intimidation tactics on her but was met with a glare that rattled even his bones. Yami stared at the young girl taking in the level of absolute hatred on her face before registering the actual strength of her grip on his shoulder. He pondered for a second if maybe she had used Reinforcement Magic, but after a moment of sensing her Ki, he realized it was just her physical strength.

Elizabeth glared heatedly for a long moment, feeling the small resistance his muscles had against her hand as she squeezed his shoulder. It was impressive if she were honest; the man's body was obviously physically built. However, she and her brother weren't pushovers themselves.

"You can kindly drop my brother before this gets out of hand," she said evenly while staring into his eyes which gave literally nothing away; she didn't know if she was hurting the man or not. Though at that moment Elizabeth didn't care, she cared more about the boy whose head he was squeezing. Yami watched her for a moment longer before glancing back down at Asta who was staring at the girl from the corner of his eyes in shock. He could feel the boy had some massive physical strength as well.

"Don't worry Elizabeth, I'm fine," Asta grunted out trying to catch her attention since he knew the extent of her abilities and her fears of being found out by Yuno and the others from Hage before she had to be. As he talked she ignored him until Yami squeezed his head harder making him scream in pain. Elizabeth squeezed the older mage's shoulder tighter and harder feeling his collarbone beneath her thumb feel as though it was about to give way to the pressure of her strength. But before anything could go any further, suddenly a large Magic force came into the area startling all the birds and causing them to fly away. Pausing to watch her new friend fly away, Elizabeth turned towards Yuno as a man wearing a feathered mask began to speak from the large balcony area above the testing ground.

Every mage in the area looked up as eight strong individuals stepped forwards from the darkness of the open rooms above.

"Our young testers, we apologize for the wait." the Captain of the Golden Dawn stepped forwards gathering everyone's attention on him. At the sight of all the Captains, the room grew in uproar as everyone cheered around her.

"We get to see all the squad leaders lined up!" someone cheered making Elizabeth slowly turn back toward the older man in front of her and gave him a wicked smile. Patting his shoulder with a definite edge in her look, Elizabeth gave him a daring expression.

"Don't you have somewhere to be smoke-stack?" she grinned when the man's eye finally twitched in annoyance. He dropped Asta from his hold letting the boy alone before he turned towards his anxious-looking underlings.

"It's already starting!" Finral declared anxiously while staring up at the empty area he and his Captain were supposed to be in.

"You and your freaky sister were saved by the bell this time, Kid. You better treasure that life you managed to keep, if not, I'll kill you." Yami declared while walking away, completely ignoring his frantic right-hand man. Elizabeth watched the man go noticing him glance back at her before he and his two men disappeared into the crowd.

It's from these nine captains that the next Wizard King will be chosen. The Captains each have the magic power of at least one hundred mages.

"I'll be taking the lead for this test." the captain of the Golden Dawn declared surprising everyone in the room. Elizabeth grabbed hold of Asta's head as Yami had moments ago, she fixed up his hair and headband before smiling widely at him when he looked up at her.
