CHAPTER 7
-Lauren-
I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock that keeps on beeping, echoing throughout the house. I try to shut it off but it fell off the table. I popped my eyes open adjusting to sun rays beaming through my window. I stood up and looked for my alarm clock to shut it off. I stared at my clock for about a minute, dumbfounded.
“Oh shit!” I exclaimed. It’s already 7:58 am. It’s my first day at work and I surely don’t want to be late this time after what happened the last time and I seriously don’t want that to happen ever again. Setting aside that thought, I’m so nervous that in my first day I have to meet an “Important Client” already… Why is Andy doing this to me?! Ugh.
I went straight to the bathroom shaking due to nervousness making stuffs fall as I run across them. I know, so clumsy of me but I really need to hurry up or else Andy, my boss, might get mad at me. I first tested the water if it’s warm enough, stripping my clothes off and stood under the running water for 30 minutes. I did my usual routine when taking a bath. After I finished, I wrapped my body around a blue towel then I run towards my closet, my hair still dripping. I don’t give a fuck. It’s already 8:28 am.
“Shit! Shit! Shit!” I groan.
I wore a yellow streamlined skirt and pink low cut shirt. I tucked the shirt on my skirt and added up a black braided belt. I also wore a black fringe necklace and a gray oversized blazer to decorate my plain outfit. I let my long damp hair fall. I didn’t even bother to comb my hair to give a ‘morning look’. I took a quick glance at the mirror. My clothes look formal yet colorful and stylish. It looked awesome. I slipped on a peep – toe pink pumps to match my shirt. I am now ready to go.
I grabbed my bag and my ray bans on top of my bed. I double checked everything first then locked the door. As I stepped outside, a bright light welcomed me; it’s quite sunny so I decided to wear my ray bans.
“Ray bans on! Check!” I murmured. I checked my wrist watch and it’s already 9:00 am. I just realized it took me half an hour to get dressed. It seemed like it was only 5 minutes, oh well. I took the bus in going to work.
I arrived at work at around 9:15am. I’m quite early. I decided to go buy some coffee first since I haven’t eaten breakfast yet. I went to Starbucks which is 3 blocks away from the office so it means that I could get back to work in just a snap.
As I was walking along the pavement enjoying the beautiful buildings surrounding me, there are group of screaming girl running towards my direction. They were holding humongous, gigantic posters which I can barely read. I seriously don’t know where to go. I don’t want to squish myself through those wild teenagers cause as you may know I’m claustrophobic. My hearts beating fast, really fast. I ran back to the office as fast as I could. I am seriously palpitating right now. My hands and knees were shaking. The girls wont stop screaming and running. I feel like I was the one who were they chasing. People were starting to give them dirty looks but they won’t stop, they won’t surrender even though cops are trying to stop them now.
I have finally arrived at the building still running. I accidentally bumped someone, who has a really, really hard chest. I look up to see who was it but he was facing the other side and it seemed like he’s on the phone so I just apologize running again not looking back. I went straight to Andy’s office not wanting to get killed by those girls. Over acting mode on. I wanted to check if he has already arrived.
“Uh hey! Is An… “I asked her but she cuts me off by pointing at a door where it says ‘Conference Room’.
“Lauren Right? “ I nodded in response.
