Voices on the Mountain
:
They were completely lost, and they had to try and get away before They came after them...

The two boys were waiting at the campfire for the girls, when they heard the sound of a gunshot.
:
: Two days earlier....
Sam woke up to the cool mountain air. It was the first morning of summer camp and she couldn't wait to get outside. She boasted long golden brown hair and hazel colored eyes. Sam had come to camp because she loved the outdoors and knew that she would be really bored if she did nothing over the summer. She wondered if her best friend- Lauren, was awake yet. Lauren was pretty, with dark brown hair and light green eyes. Lauren was shorter than her and much quieter, but a really fun person, even though they were complete opposites. Sam was the type of girl that jumps into things before thinking about how far down she's jumping. She was a lot bolder than any sane person should be, she thought.
She turned her thoughts back to wondering if Lauren was awake. Maybe they could look around a bit before everyone else was up, but considering that it was about six-o-clock in the morning, she doubted Lauren was even near waking. Sam was about to go out and take a look around herself when one of her cabin-mates, Sarah, stopped her. Sam only knew Sarah's name because she heard a couple of kids call her a brat. Great, she thought sarcastically, the last thing I need is for a rich snooty kid to share a cabin with.
"What are you doing?" Sarah asked her.
"I'm going to look around." Sam said back, with her hands on her hips, annoyed. Sam didn't want pointless arguing over summer break, while she should be having fun.
"Well look around out the window!" Sarah countered, pointing to the window.
"Why?" Sam replied.
"Have you read the "Wilderness Guide" book?"
"Duh, it was a requirement!"
"Then you would know that you can't go out before 7-o-clock, - plus there are bears out there!" Sarah shouted back. Sam muttered under her breath that meeting a bear hungry for human was seriously unlikely, then quickly changed the subject, because this argument could last for hours on end, and she didn't want to miss the first activity, so she said, "Fine, I'll look out the window, I think it snowed last night."
At 7-o-clock Sam finally reached the great outdoors and was ready for adventure. She loved how the sun was lightly beating on her skin, while the leftover snow was crunching beneath her feet. Suddenly she saw Lauren, and ran over to her.
"Lauren, I have to tell you about this morning, but now we'll be late for the first activity- canoeing! Come on!".
"OK", Lauren said,"and I have to tell you about last night! We'll talk in the canoe."
Sam and Lauren ran over to the dock where the other kids were and waited for instructions from the lifeguard. The lifeguard quickly taught them how to properly unhitch a canoe (although it was just not hard to untie the thing) and everyone set off into the lake.
"Finally, now I can talk to you." said Lauren.
"Sure, what's up?" said Sam.
"Last night at exactly two-o-clock in the morning, me and one of my cabin mates, Elena, heard something coming from the top of the mountain", Lauren said, gesturing to the mountain overlooking their camp. They looked at the ominous mountain, whose shadow cast over the whole campsite, making the morning unnaturally chilly and all the girls jealous of the boys camp across the lake, who's camp was not in the cold shadow at all.
