Meanwhile...

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Zayn asked with anger laced in his voice. He made it pretty clear that he never wanted to see him again four months ago and yet all of the sudden he decided to show up again. He couldn't believe his eyes.

"Listen, Z, I'm really sorry about what happened. Can you just-" Niall wasn't able to finish his sentence. The dark haired latter had already cut him off with a short response.

"No." Zayn glared daggers. It was quite obvious that he wasn't pleased with the blond's pop up and no one could really blame him.

"Zee..." Niall pleaded, begging him with his eyes. The freezing cold was blowing through the door into the house the longer Zayn held it open. He didn't realize anyone had noticed it until he heard his husband's voice from behind him.

"Niall?" Liam questioned with irritation yet excitement. Zayn mentally cursed and bit the inside of his cheeks, forcing a smile on his lips. He spun around to face him. "What are you doing here?" The brunet asked with a friendly smile on his lips, approaching the two.

He stepped beside Zayn, placing his arm around his waist while staring at his former band mate. "I haven't seen you in a while. Why don't you come i-"

"No!" Zayn objected quickly, pursing his lips at the absurd protest. He cleared his throat, receiving a weird look from Liam. "I- I mean, he was about to leave, babe." He lied and chuckled sheepishly, giving Niall a certain glance.

The blond noticed it and inhaled a deep breath. "Sure." He said with a grin and stepped into the house instead. "It was getting kind of chilly out there."

Zayn watched him, his jaw clenching. He tensed, feeling the urge to just push him back out the house and slam the door right in his face. But since he didn't want to be rude, he resisted that urge. For his lover's sake mostly. He observed the two men as they caught up, considering Liam hadn't seen him ever since the accident. Zayn didn't like it – he didn't like it at all.

Not only did he not tell Liam about what happened between them, he never even explained to him why Zayn didn't invite the blond to their thanksgiving dinner. He just made up some kind of excuse that Niall was sick. The last thing he needed was a healthy Irish man to stand in front of his doorstep begging for forgiveness or whatever he came to search for.

The dark haired latter ran his fingers through his hair and inhaled a deep breath. He calmed himself, rubbing at his jaw before following the other two and proceeding his task in the kitchen. He grabbed the tray and carried it towards the living room, placing it down on the coffee table so everyone could grab a glass.

"I really adore the place." Louis spoke up once Zayn had joined them, reaching to the table to grab a drink. He looked around the lounging area, enjoying how cozy and modern it looked.

"Thank you." The latter smiled. "It's the perfect place to raise the twins. They have a huge garden, animals to play with and schools aren't very far from here either. There's a bus stop just down the road." He hummed and sat down on the armchair, leaning himself back.

"You really know how to pick places, Zee. Gotta hand that to you." Harry complimented with a grin, placing his arm on the back of the couch.

"Thanks." Zayn chuckled and switched his gaze over to Liam and Niall. He felt an uncomfortable amount of rage rush through his body as he watched the two of them, wanting nothing more but to be able to kick the blond out. He might have seemed mean about it, yet Niall had taken advantage of his vulnerability while Liam was still in a coma. He could never forgive him nor could he ever forget about it.
