JUSTICE MAXIMUS HUXLEY

PSCIELOGY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
JANUARY 26, 2024
1:00 P.M- 9:30 P.M

“Damn it! I asked, shooting an annoyed look at the motorcycle driver in front of me. He kept trying to squeeze through, nearly wedged between my car and the red car to my right. “Just twenty more seconds,” I mumbled, checking the countdown on the traffic light.

Suddenly, my phone buzzed, and I noticed it was Klarisse calling. I picked it up right away.

“Hey, baby! Where are you?” Her voice was lively. From the background noise I could hear, she was at Pscielogy International School.

“I’m on my way, just caught in some traffic on Mildred Avenue,” I replied with a hint of annoyance.

“M.A? Oh, ma-traffic talaga diyan lalo at tanghaling tapat. May shortcut na daanan diyan papunta rito.”

“Really? Saan banda?”

Commotion? Whatever.

After two minutes, I noticed a car turn into a narrow alley. Without thinking, I decided to follow it closely. As I watched the car, I caught sight of its license plate number, and I was certain it belonged to one of the professors at Pscielogy International School. I often spotted it in the PIS parking lot from time to time.

“Mayroon ngang ganitong daan dito,”  namamangha kong sabi.

I completed my master’s in physics last year and passed the exam five months ago. I’m planning to start my doctoral degree next year. At 25, I’m one of the youngest professors here. Interestingly, my grandparents also graduated from this school and taught here as well.

“Good afternoon,” dagdag bati niya pa.

Our relationship is known only to a few people. We still meet up after class, and sometimes I go to her condo while other times she comes to mine. It works both ways. It’s not that we want to keep it a secret; it’s just more convenient that way, so we don’t become the focus of everyone’s gossip. If they happen to find out, I’m okay with it.

“I see,” I replied curtly. “If I’m not too busy later, let’s have dinner together.”

“Alright. Yayayain din naman sana kita. I’ll make a reservation at LC Restaurant.”

“Sure. See you later, baby,” bulong ko sa kaniya.
