I would have given the world
To be your cup of coffee
On a good morning
With rays of sunshine
And the summer breeze
Fluttering through the windows
Illuminating your beauty
In the summer hues
But instead,
I became your shot
Of whiskey
On a bad night
Like tonight
Echoing the storm
Inside of our hearts.
