I was told that everything's gonna be okay. Then he said that nothing's gonna be the same.
I was asked if I could go and make food. Then he said that I was too bad at it.
I was depended on. And then he said I was untrustable.
I asked him if he could...

My head spun as I took in the scene in front of me. I knew I was overreacting but I can't help but feel nervous. It was merely a year ago the last time I went to a party. One of the reasons is that it isn't much of my scene. The music is great but I don't like the idea of dancing with someone I don't know.
Everyone seemed to have so much fun at this bonfire party. It was really dark and the only source of light was the bonfire, glowing sticks and a few fairy lights.
"Woo, yeah! Eden lets have fun!" Noah grabbed my arm and dragged me to the bonfire where people sat around, roasting marshmallows. "Let's make smores," he grinned and shoved two marshmallows on a stick.
I looked around and asked my brother worriedly, "where's Cadence?"
He laughed and pointed to the group of teenagers dancing together. One which I recognised as Cadence. I groaned "Noah, why is she dancing with a bunch of eighteen-year-olds?"
"Relax, Eddie. She's just having fun. You should take notes from her."
"You should take notes from her," I mocked him under my breath and stood up to go somewhere else.
I spotted a log two yards away from the bonfire and went there. Why did I even come here in the first place? I knew I wouldn't enjoy it as much as the other does.
My eyes glanced at my brother, he was talking to a girl while his mouth was full of melted marshmallows. Yuck. Cadence was nowhere to be seen but Noah told me to relax so I guess I should do that.
I jumped at the sound of a girl screaming suddenly. Then I saw the source, a guy --from earlier who had invited me to this party-- had been thrown into the water. I could have sworn it was a girl. My stupid ass thought someone was dying for fuck's sake.
When he came up to the surface, I also noticed that most of the boys here were shirtless. Thank god mom and dad went to a restaurant or else they would've been sued.
But then there was one particular boy with a shirt on, Tyler. Like me, he stood far away from the party. The light from the fire shone lightly on his face and made it easy to see every curve of it.
"He's one hell of an eye candy." A feminine voice startled me.
I looked to my right. A girl who looks my age sat beside me. "Pheobe Carlson, nice to meet you," she introduced herself and extended out her hand. I shook it gently and smiled "Eden wells."
Pheobe nodded, "you live in that beach house right?"
I looked over to where she was looking "kind of. My dad's friend let us borrow it for the summer."
"Mr Dickson. He's a kind man."
My dad never told us his name. He thought right because Noah and his childishness would make fun of it for days.
"How long are you gonna be here for?" Pheobe asked. Why would she want to make a conversation with me instead of hanging out with the fun party people?
