I woke up to bright light shining into my eyes, a soft and warm blanket around my body and gentle snoring that wasn't mine. I decided against opening my eyes to greet the sunlight and what we call life.
Burrowing myself into the blankets that felt like clouds on a sunny day, I tried going back to sleep, hoping to somehow continue my marvellous dream of a fairytale.
It was wonderful; my dream. I felt like I was in a fairytale. But it wasn't like something a little girl would describe; there were no fairies displaying their powerful magical gifts or mermaids gracefully sitting on a rock by the beach or mythical creatures waiting to be seen.
The dream was my definition of a fairytale. And somehow, very confusingly, the only other person in my dream who made it all perfect was someone I never thought I would even care about.
Just as I was gradually falling back into slumber, someone groaned in my ear making my eyes shoot up in realisation. The memories from yesterday flashed through my eyes and I sat up from my horizontal position.
"Shit!" I shouted and looked at the clock hanging on the wall. I started panicking when I saw that it was nine in the morning, which means that my parents are already awake and they will kill me when I go back!
A pair of arms wrapped around my waist lazily and tried to pull me down, "why are you so loud?" Tyler groggily asked and tugged on me gently.
"I gotta go," I stood up from his bed and scanned the room for my phone.
"What?" Tyler leaned on his elbow and his eyebrows furrowed. He grabbed my hand and pulled me to him, "no, come back," he whined.
Sighing, I sat beside him on the bed and said, "go back to sleep, Tyler." My eyes caught my phone on the foot of the bed, nearly falling off. I wondered how it got there in the first place.
"You're leaving me?" He whispered.
I quickly snatched my phone before it falls and walked to the door, "I'm sorry, I really have to go. I'll see you around." I gave him one last look before running down the stairs and back to where could be my murder scene.
On my way back, I tried thinking of excuses to why I wasn't back last night. I could say that I was there all alone but they are just too blind to see me but that would only make them kill me even more painfully.
I tried opening the front door as quietly as I could and tiptoed inside. I peeked into the living room to see if someone was there, unsurprisingly enough, both of my parents were there and so was Cadence.
Slowly and soundlessly, I walked up the stairs then to my room. I sighed in relief as soon as I got inside and closed the door.
I turned around with a victorious grin on my face only to have it turn into an 'O' as I screamed. I knew it, they are trying to kill me; my own family were trying to kill me.
