~~~~~~~~~~~Peter's POV~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wow, that kid is weird. I forgot to get his name! I gotta tell Ned be about this. Hey, maybe that kid could become an Avenger, like me! How could he not know who the Avengers are?
These thoughts are just some of the ones that rattle through my head as I walk down the sidewalk on my way to Stark Tower. I had actually landed an internship with Mr. Stark! Well, it wasn't really by choice.
You see, after I got back from my decathlon competition in D.C, Aunt May discovered that I was Spider-Man (Shhhh, you can't tell anyone!).
She was really upset at first, and she called Mr. Stark and yelled at him and me. Then, I asked how I could make it up to her. She said that I was grounded for two months, but Mr. Stark said that it wasn't completely my fault. So, she yelled at him some more, then decided that I was only grounded for one month.
Then, Mr. Stark said that I could actually intern under him at Stark Tower this summer, and Aunt May agreed. So, here I am.
I arrive at the tower and go up the elevator. On the second floor it stops and Mr. Bruce gets in.
"Hi, Peter, how are you doing today?"
"Good, Mr. Bruce, and you?" I ask him. I have to stay cool. This was the guy that was like, THE most important scientist of our time.
"I'm fine. You know you can call me just Bruce, right? Hearing you say that makes me feel old." He replied.
"Okay, Mr. Just Bruce. I-i mean Just Bruce. I mean--" I sigh.
"What floor are you going to?" He asks me.
"The fourth floor. You?"
"Actually, I'm going down. I have a meeting in a few minutes. But it can wait. The person will probably be late anyway."
The elevator stops and I get out.
"Take it easy, kid. And stop by the lab anytime if you have any questions, okay?"
I nod, 'cause what else could I say? I always got like this when I met someone famous or important or pretty or... basically anyone. Even if I had known them for a while.
I brought this up to Ned once and he said, "You know you're famous too, right?"
"Yeah, but nobody knows who I am. That's the point of the mask." I answered.
"Well then tell them. It worked for Mr. Stark, right?"
I shook my head. "Then I'd be even more tongue-tied."
I think about this conversation as I reach my floor.
I step out and see Mr. Stark working with some blueprints.
"Good morning, Mr. Sta---"
"Hey, kid. Did you bring the coffee?"
I look around the room, then closed my eyes. "Shoot! Uh, I'll be right back, Sir. What kind was it, again?"
"Plain black coffee with a little bit of sugar. Oh, and tell them to make it super hot. I don't want to have to heat it up in the microwave by the time you get back because it's cold."
"Sure thing, Sir!" I say, and I take off.
How could I forget the coffee? That was the whole reason I went out.
Oh, well, I'll just go down the street to grab one. Hey, I wonder if that person ever got their bike?
