                                                       "Cassandra"

Nathan’s POV:

I watched Cassandra walk into the school with that James boy at her side. I felt my hands ball into fists and had to forcibly relax them. There was no more trying to deny it. I was jealous of him. Ever since he had come here she had started spending more time with him than me. In fact it was like she was blocking me out completely.

I was just glad that it was Friday and I had a match tonight. I could take out my anger on who ever my opponent is. Poor guy, I thought sadly as I walked over to my table. There was a few kids sitting there and they scampered away when I got close.

I was really starting to get frustrated at that. Now that I had met people who weren’t scared of me, I was even more frustrating when they ran away from me. The past few days I hadn’t talked to anyone. It didn’t seem like they missed me though.

“Hey dude,” K.J. said as he sat down beside me.

            “Hi,” I said gloomily.

“What’s wrong,” he asked instantly worried.

            “Nothing,” I grumbled.

“Something is,” he pressed. I slowly let my eyes wonder back to where Cassandra was talking to James. “Ahh.”

“What,” I asked as I looked back at him.

“You’re jealous,” he said with a smile.

“No I’m not,” I said surprised that he had caught on.

“Yes you are. You’re jealous of James,” he said happily.

“Why would I be jealous of him,” I scoffed.

“Because he’s the one that Cassandra is currently talking to,” he said smugly.

            “I’m not jealous,” I demanded.

“Why haven’t you been talking to her,” he asked me after a minute. I was kind of relieved that he had steered the subject away from my jealousy.

“She’s been ignoring me,” I said bitterly.

“I’m sure she hasn’t,” he said rolling his eyes.

“Really? Then why hasn’t she said a word to me since James got here,” I asked as I looked back over at them.

“She hasn’t,” he asked as he furrowed his eyebrows.

“Nope. So why should I talk to her when she obviously doesn’t want to talk to me,” I asked as I looked down

“She’s coming over here now,” he said nodding towards her. I didn’t look up but I really wanted to.
