My fingers swiftly yet skillfully glided across the keyboard as I struggled to put my fast-pacing thoughts into words. It was the end of the chapter, where the protagonist decides that the world is to corrupt for the power he possesses and that instead of seeing humanity rage wars over it, he would rather kill himself knowing that he would take the cursed power with him.

I feel my teeth wrap around my lip, threatening to start biting out of habit. This was an intense scene, no doubt that even a misspelled word would ruin the mood.

My mind worked faster than my fingers as I viciously tapped on each letter, coming to the conclusion that would set me free until the next update. It felt like an eternity before I wrote an ending that I was truly satisfied with.

Letting out a deep breath, I fall on back into the cool covers. I want nothing more than to snuggle into them.

"Judging by that look I assume that you're done with the chapter." I heard him state as I glanced over to the table he was seated at. I let out a sound of acknowledgment as I closed my eyes trying to further indulge myself in the bedspread. I hated to admit this but there was no doubt that he had the comfiest bed known to mankind.

I listened to the sounds of shuffling and sudden steps as the bed lurched beneath me, signaling that he had made his way over to me. Opening my eyes, in slight annoyance I might add, I caught him leaning over my body and skimming my computer with the finished manuscript.

At this I pouted and slightly glared, using my feet to close the monitor and slide the computer towards my body. "You can't see it yet; I have to go through any grammar mistakes and sentence errors before I have you proofread."

He raised a brow before rolling his eyes, seating himself right next to my body before laying vertically on my back. "That's dumb. You used to come running to me the moment you finished a chapter."

"That was before the August incident: The Grammar Tragedy of Chapter Thirteen," I growled out slightly, bending my legs to gently hit him on the forehead with my feet.

"Come on! That wasn't even my fault! It was testing week and I was tired." He attempted to justify himself as I rolled my eyes. I've heard that excuse since the day it happened. "For the record, it wasn't even that bad."

This made me whip my head to look directly at him in disbelief. "Not that bad? I still find Reddit forms about it! It was a complete disaster! I had to make a public apology!" I stopped myself before I went into a full-blown rant about how embarrassing that whole situation was.

Not wanting to fight, or maybe just deciding that this conversation wasn't worth an hour rant, he lifted his hands up in defeat to indicate the end of the conversation...but not without mumbling a snarky remark under his breath that I heard with complete clarity.

"This is why you don't have a boyfriend."

The slapped that I delivered to his head could be heard three houses down.

As I watched him roll on the ground clutching his forehead in pain, I took this time to glance at the clock on his wall. 9:50 PM.

Great, looks like I'm not the only one ranting tonight. I let out a sigh and shoved my laptop into my school bag, slowly sliding off the bed to stretch my body.

"Look how late it is, I better go. Alpha is probably worried sick about me." I said to him as he slowly recovered from the "fatal wound" I gave him. We walked down the stairs of his house together and towards his front door.
