I told Albus.

He didnt react at all.

I shouldn't be surprised.

Was I expecting him to have a panic attack when I told him I was dating his cousin? No. But deep down I wanted him to. I wanted him to react a lot. I wanted him to tell me that I just can't be with her. That I'm his best friend, and he just doesn't want me dating his cousin. I hoped that he would say that I was enough. That he wants me for himself.

Because that's what I would've told him. And I'm desperately clinging on to this idea that he reciprocates my feelings. Even though he doesn't. And if he did, it would never work. And there are other things he could find out about that could diminish those feelings.

Those feelings that dont even exist.

I'm a bit paranoid.

And Rose will be here any minute for our date and I feel under and over dressed.

Rose P.O.V.

I arrive at the tree where he wanted to meet a few minutes late. He doesn't see me, so I tap his shoulder and he turns around.

"Hey. You look nice." He says.

I'm wearing a dress- the one I believe I also wore on our first date. My hair is messily in a bun and I took about all of one minute to get ready, but I say, "Thanks. You look nice too."

He does. His curly platinum blonde hair sits nicely on his head. With a black button down tee and jeans, he looks handsome. But his long, rather dark, eyelashes make him look almost - pretty.

I realise I'm staring. "Sorry. I didnt mean to stare. You-" I start.

He cuts me off, "Its fine. Do you want to eat? I bought us lunch." He gestures to a bag on the ground with a picnic blanket. It's a symbol from some restaurant I recognize. I dont remember the name.

"Your really sweet. Lunch sounds great."

I sit. He does too.

We eat. Dont talk. Eventually I feel as though I need to say something. I dont like silence. It freaks me out all the possibilities of what is going on inside his head.

There are a lot of reasons why it would be a good idea to just end whatever this is now.

-He is my cousins best friend.
-My whole family kinda hates him. Thinks he is some evil mastermind plotting revenge or something.
-I haven't worked up the courage to tell anyone except Albus, who would have known anyway.
-All my friends would laugh at me If i even mentioned his name.

But the thing is, I've dated a few different guys. None of them are as sweet or kind as he is. None of them seemed like they were listening when I would talk to them. They wouldnt put on a nice shirt.

Scorpius is quiet. He likes to read. Doesn't like sports. I'm loud, I dont like reading, but I have to do it to do well in school, and I love love quidditch. So maybe we balance each other out. Like my parents do.

I try to think of something to say. I want to talk about quidditch. I know he doesn't want to. But it's not like he would try to change the subject. He's too shy.

"Did you hear about what happend to the guy on that player I told you about?" I ask

He shakes his head no.

"He got another injury. Broke a bunch of bones falling off his broom. Just slipped off."
