Lauren kept checking her watch as dinner progressed, the tiny hands ticking by as her potential investors swooned over her presence.
She didn't need to convince them to pull out there check books, they knew what she did, what her business was. Dinner was merely a formality of meeting each other.
So when the hand of her watch hit quarter past nine and the two men were still stuck on the topic of 'what's next for Jauregui Enterprise', Lauren sighed.
"Look boys, I'll be completely honest with you, okay?" She asked, receiving two nods in sync. "Jauregui Inc. Is looking into some new areas of development. We're successful in our telecommunications department with a stock rate increase of 58.3% that's allowing more funding than necessary. Our Business division is increasing in how many properties and businesses they're buying, averaging in 9 properties or businesses per month and flipping them for an increase in money by approximately 43.9%." She said, awing the investors.
"That being said, we are still in the electronics division, creating our new products that will soon spread to gaming consoles and video games; from fresh new minds of under appreciated college students. But I'm looking into a new division, a division called 'Our people'." Lauren said, the two men watching her intently as they sat on the edge of their seats.
"Our people is a new division created to use our resources to create more affordable, more creative, more eco-friendly products. I'm thinking solar panel phones, maybe wind up. Something to decrease the use of electricity as that adds to the cost people pay." She paused for a second in thought, scrunching her eye brows as she leaned back in her chair.
"Think about it boys. Millions of people struggle to live their lifes based on there daily needs. They struggle to pay their rent, buy food, feed their children, keep the lights on and clothes on their back. So when someone buys a Jauregui phone, that's a base price of currently, let's say $700. That's money to us, our workers and suppliers. But it doesn't stop there." She leaned back in, she had them on the hook now.
"They go home and they have to charge the phone, add that to their electricity bill, okay. It's not that much, couple bucks each night they charge it. Now biggie, right?" She asked before continuing.
"But then they put that phone on a plan, they pay for calls and texts, they pay for games and the internet they use on top of charging their phone once, maybe twice a day. Those few bucks keep increasing, and while having a phone is a pivotal part of todays world as far as talking to each other goes, you need it for work too. This is all of the assumption you can afford a phone of course." She said, drinking her wine for a minute before leaning in and placing her elbows on the table.
"I wish to remove all unnecessary costs people are forces to pay on a daily bases. I'm not concerned about money anymore, I have enough to live a happy and comfortable life. And that's more than most can say. For now I want to focus on how I can make that possible for others, starting with a phone, moving onto laptops and other things. Maybe in the future I'll move into sustainable energies and reliable food sources like I wish too. But one thing at a time, right boys?" The gentlemen nodded their head vigorously causing Lauren to smirk behind her wine glass.
Checking her watch again to took note that it was quarter to ten and she was late. "Excuse me gentlemen but I have other business to attend to, it was lovely having dinner with the pair of you and I hope to expect a phone call." She said, standing from her seat and shaking hands with the investors.
"Of course, Miss Jauregui. After an spiel into Jauregui Inc's future like that, how could we not invest." One man said with a smile.
"Lovely, I'll be seeing you boys soon." Lauren said before turning and making her way outside where James awaited her.
"A nice dinner I presume, Miss Jauregui?" James asked as he opened the door for the young CEO.
"Always, James. Ale's never disappoints." Lauren told the older man as she took her seat.
"Home, Miss Jauregui?" Her driver asked once he took his own seat.
"No... take me back to that gas station we stopped at please." She told the driver, smiling kindly into the rear-view mirror.
"Of course Miss Jauregui." He told his boss, before the divider slid up and separated the pair.
Lauren took this as her chance to relax back into her seat and kick off her high heels that she was forced to wear. After all, heels give her edge of intimidation and seductiveness, allowing her to play the role of CEO that little bit better as people take it as a form of business attire and take her more seriously.
After all, how serious would she be considered walking around in her pair of army boots compared to six inch heels?
The town car pulled into the gas station, Lauren waiting for James to open her door.
When he did, she was pleasantly surprised to see the chauffeur holding out her pair of designer slides she brought the other day. "My God, James. You're a life saver." Lauren told him as relief flooded her.

Sliding on her slides, Lauren stepped out of the car and told James to wait for her, walking to the back of the building where the bathrooms were located.
It was quarter past ten now and Lauren was scared Karla might've chosen to leave.
So not caring that her shoes didn't match her suit in any way, she walked with determination only to find a woman, slightly younger than herself, sitting on the bathroom counter.
She halted slightly at the gorgeous young woman, watching the stranger raise a single eyebrow in amusement. Shaking herself out of her frozen stupor she cleared her throat before analyzing the tall girl with blonde hair.
"Karla?" She asked with scrunched eyebrows.
"Nah Boo, I'm Dinah. Ya girls in her stall, as usual." Dinah sassed as she turned her head and aimed her remark at the closed stall.
"Don't sass me, Dinah Jane. I know all about your Glory days. You're lucky you got the job here before you did something stupider. I wouldn't have put it past you." Karla called out in her own defense.
Dinah scoffed at her friends reply before hopping off the counter. "Whatever you say, Chancho." She called, walking out of the bathroom.
Lauren stood confused at what she just witnessed. Brought out of her thoughts by Karla. It was two words but it got her heart pumping.
