"We've had a 60% increase in our houses over the past three months and with your approval to move forward with expanding our realestate department I've interviewed some potential secretarys and realtors. With your approval I can call them up this afternoon and have them start as soon as Friday." Ryan told Lauren, placing the resumes of potential employees on her desk.
"Hmm," Lauren hummed, pulling the resumes closer as she flicked through them. They all seemed great so far. Most of them young with a year of two of experience.
As Lauren neared the end of the pile Ryan spoke up again. "There is one girl, Camila Cabello. She's perfect for the job and very smart, but she doesn't have her GED yet. She's currently enrolled into night school and getting it but I wanted to double check with you first." He told the CEO.
Lauren pulled the girls resume from the bottom of the pile and turned in her chair to face the sky line while looking over it.
Camila Cabello, waitress as Sal's Dinner. 23 years old, no emergency contacts.
"I took the liberty of pulling her school records to see her grades and she was a straight A student. The school doesn't know why she dropped out but they said she was on the track to getting a full ride from the university of Miami." He added.
Lauren turned the page over to see if she was missing anything before swivling her chair back to face the slightly older man.
"Start her on part-time while she finishes her GED and then move her up to full-time. And keep me updated on the progress with our expansion. I trust you Reynolds, keep up the good work." Lauren told her head of realestate.
"No worries, Lauren. I'll go call your new employees right now." Ryan told her, leaving her to finish her work.
Dinah and Camila walked down Main Street together, Camila fiddling with the keys Lauren has left her the day prior, "maybe we shouldn't do this..." She told Dinah.
Dinah snorted at her words before grabbing her hand, "too late Chancho, looks like we're here. May as well take a look now." She told the Latina, pulling her through the revolving door and into the building.
The two girls were already in awe of the place as they walked through the front door, the entire building was elegant with white marble floors and a gold trimmed front desk.
"How may I help you?" The lady at the desk asked.
Dinah nudged Camila in the ribs as she urged her to reply.
Clearing her throat Camila blinked a few times before smiling and replying to her. "Miss Jauregui gave me this set of keys so that I might look at one of the appartments. Could you please tell us what floor it's on?" She asked politely.
The lady's eyes widened as Camila spoke, "oh yes, of course!" She told them, taking the keys and looking in her computer for a moment. "Level seven, apartment twenty-seven." She told Camila as hse handed the keys back to the young girl.
"Thank you." Camila replied, her and Dinah moving towards the elevator and up the the seventh floor.
Dinah let out a low whistle as they entered the aparment, Camila dopping the keys on the table near the door.
The two girls wondered through the aparment in different directions, Camila heading to the left and Dinah to the right. Not long later Camila found herself in one of the bedrooms looking out the window in thought.
"I call dibs on this room!" Dinah yelled out from down the hall way, entering the room Camila was standing in shortly after. "Damn I should've called dibs on this one." She pouted.
"This is pretty nice, Walz." Dinah commented, sitting down on the bed.
"I can only imagine the price," Camila joked. Dinah smiling at her as she shook her head.
"Let's go find out. Who knows, maybe we can both pull our money together and get it. Assuming you wanted a room mate." Dinah asked sheepishly.
"Oh for sure, who would eat all my food if I didn't keep you around?" Camila joked, sitting down on the bed with the Poly and bumping her shoulder.
"Exactly!" Dinah exclaimed, getting her confidence back before hopping off the bed. "Now let's go get us an apartment!" She yelled, walkng determindly out of the room with Camila quick on her heels.
"I'm sorry, what?" Dinah asked, psuhing Camila to the side as she stared at the front desk lady with wide eyes.
"Umm, I said the rent for the apartment is $250 a week including utilities." She repeated, Camila and Dinah standing there in shock.
This had to be a joke, it was cheaper than her shitty apartment she was living in at the moment AND it included her bills.
Clearing her throat, Camila placed a hand on Dinahs arm as she moved forward again. "When can we move in?"
