IN MY APARTMENT...

Waking up, I sat up from my bed and stretched my arms.

I yawned as I put on my slippers and went towards my door, "Let's see if I have any mail..."

I left my apartment and went downstairs to the mailbox. I opened it using my keys, and found an envelope.

I took it out and it said:

To: Melanie Ayame

From: Writing Contest of Magnolia 2012

My eyes shot up with surprise. I immediately closed my mailbox, locking it, and ran up the stairs to my apartment room.

I ran inside, sat at my desk, and opened the envelope.

I took the letter out and read it.

My mouth opened wide.

IN FAIRY TAIL...

I ran through the entrance, holding the letter.

"Everyone! Guess what! Guess what! Guess what!", I yelled.

"What's up, Melanie?", Natsu asked.

"I DID IT!!! I WON THE WRITING CONTEST!!!!!!"

Everyone reacted with surprise, "Really?!"

I nodded as I ran up to everyone and showed them the letter.

Everyone gathered around and looked at the letter.

Dear Melanie Ayame,

We, the judges of the Writing Contest of Magnolia 2012, are pleased to say that you have won the writing contest.

Congratulations!

Your novel was truly interesting and addicting to read. You truly deserve winning the contest.

Your novel will be published in three months. We will contact you whenever there's a problem or when we would like more writing from you.

"Congratulations!", Lucy said with a smile.

"Thank you so much!", I replied. "I am so happy!"

"I wish I joined..."

"Why didn't you? You still had time to turn in your writing," Gray said.

She sweatdropped, "I still don't know where my novel is..."

"Oh...."

I looked to the side and noticed that Daniel was looking down at the bar.

"Excuse me..", I said politely as I walked to Daniel.

"Hi, Daniel!", I said with a smile as I slapped his back. As I slapped his back, he reacted with surprise and spit his drink out.

"Oh my! I'm so sorry!", I apologized.

"I-It's okay...", Daniel said, wiping his face with his sleeve. "I couldn't finish the drink anyway."

He showed an assuring smile which made me smile.

"Would you like to hang out today?", I asked. "We haven't hung out ever since the incident."

"Umm..sure..", he replied with a smile.

"Great! Let's go!"

WITHIN THE STREETS OF MAGNOLIA...

We walked through the streets as we looked around, thinking of something we can do for the time being.

"You know...I noticed that you were looking down earlier. Is something bothering you?", I asked as I looked at him while walking.

"I'm fine. It's nothing," he replied.

"Are you sure? You can talk about it"

"No...really..it's nothing important..."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah."

"Really?"

He nodded.

I flicked my fingers on his forehead.

"Ouch!", he yelled.

"Daniel!"

He looked at me with surprise.

"Whenever you feel sad or mad, just tell me. You shouldn't keep your feelings to yourself! If you keep your feelings to yourself, your hurt will start to ache and you will hurt yourself!"

His eyes widened with surprise.

I grabbed onto his shoulders, "You can tell me what's on your mind okay! I just.......I don't want to lose you again!"

Tears appeared on my face as I placed my head against his chest.

He closed his eyes as he placed arms around me.

"I'm sorry," Daniel whispered. "I'm very sorry.." Tears started to form on his face. "But someone like you can never understand..."

Suddenly, he disappeared.

My eyes widened with surprise. "Daniel!"

I closed my eyes, "Daniel...what....is going on?"

IN DANIEL'S APARTMENT..

He leaned against the wall and breathed heavily as his eyes tried to turn red.

Then, his apartment started to become charred.

Daniel placed his hand over his face as he fell to the ground with his back still against the wall.

He started to tremble.

The picture that had him and I started to become charred as well.

"Melanie.......everyone......I'm so.......sorry......"

Suddenly, his eyes turned red and his apartment fell to ashes.

OUTSIDE MY APARTMENT...

I closed my eyes and tried to sense the wind currents.

I opened my eyes with surprise.

"Daniel......."
