The Right Swipe

**Note: Hi Guys! I know I am writing the second part a long time after the first part. But I promise to be consistent from now on! This story is vv close to me because it is inspired from the amazing and flawed individuals that I know. Each character here is flawed. They are going to do dumb shit. But please stay with me and with them, and just like the characters, you too will fall in love. 

"We've been swiping since two days and not one guy is worth talking to," Aria whined. 

"You're literally the most impatient person I've ever seen. You keep unmatching with guys faster than a gazelle. How are you supposed to know the person if you don't even give them a chance?"

Aria just groaned. What Sasha said was true, but she too had her own system in mind. She didn't want to waste time talking to absolute losers. So she'd unmatch if she disliked their grammar or if they seemed too pretentious or if there were dick pics sent even before the first hi. Gross! Aria scrunched up her nose in irritation. 

On the other hand, Aiden seemed to be behaving better. He wasn't hanging out with his ex and kept sending cute texts all the time. Maybe she didn't need to find anyone. Maybe she was just imagining and overthinking like Aiden was saying. Sasha disliked Aiden and didn't trust him at all. But her roommate didn't know him the way she did. Aria felt more confused than ever. Mindlessly, she continued to swipe. 

She came across the profile of a guy. His name was Stefan. His bio said that he loved wine and fine dine. Even though the grammar was wrong, she laughed at his silly attempt to rhyme. She couldn't figure out his appearance from the picture though. Was he muscled beefy or just plain bulky? Intrigued, she swiped right. It was an instant match! She waited for him to initiate the conversation but he didn't. 'Maybe he's offline,' she thought to herself. 

"Aria, Shaila and I are planning to go for the new Spiderman movie. You want to come?"

"Of course bitch! Tom Holland is an absolute cutie pie. Is it okay if I ask Aiden to come along?"

"Yeah okay. I don't mind."

Aria immediately texted Aiden. She knew that he was equally excited for MCU's latest instalment. 

Aiden's response was quick and disappointing. She re-read the text carefully trying to comprehend what he meant. 

"Sorry, I can't. What if someone sees me watching a movie with you and your friends?"

What did that even mean? Why couldn't he be seen with her and her friends? It wasn't even a singular date. It was a group hanging out. Aria felt reduced to a dirty secret. She showed the text to Sasha who was enraged. 

"Fuck him Ari! What does he even mean?"

"I don't know. I am so stupid ugh!"

Sasha quickly typed up a text from her friend's phone. 

"What do you mean by you can't be seen with me n my friends?"

The phone pinged again. 

"No, I am supposed to be studying for my finals and working on my theses. If some professor sees, they'll be pissed."

Sasha threw the phone on the bed. 

"What a dumbfuck! We are in University, no professor cares about what we do in our personal time. Also, these 'worried professors' don't get angry when this fucker posts stories of partying all night long? Ari, you gotta stop expecting shit from this guy. He is a total loser."

Aria nodded. "You're right. I will just come with y'all and fall in love with Tom." 

"That's the spirit!" Sasha cheered. 

Aria didn't check her phone even once until the movie was over. On returning home, she realized there were zero texts from Aiden. However, there was a notification. It was from Stefan. 

"Hi, I am sorry I am not very active on Tinder. Is it all right if we converse on Instagram or Facebook? It would be easier." 

Aria really liked that he asked for her permission before sliding in her DMs. It was simple and sweet. He didn't even use this as an excuse to slyly ask for her number. She was impressed or maybe her standards were too low after Aiden. Either way, she agreed to his proposal.
