A/N:Surprise! Have an update :D I didn't think I'd get this done so soon but I've been working on it for the last 7 hours since I got off work.
Okay, so Starting next chapter there will be POV shifts between Killian and Sera. This whole chapter is in Sera's POV but whenever the POV shifts there will be a marker, like in my book Under One Moon. If the part below is in Sera's POV the marker will look like this: ☽𝕊☾ If the part below is in Killian's POV the marker above will look like this: ☽𝕂☾ Like I said this chapter will be just Sera's POV but next chapter will be both. When Emma pulled up the school, I felt a nervous twinge in my stomach. I looked up at the massive school, which honestly looked like a mansion rather than a school.
"You okay?" Emma asked.
"Sure.." I replied.
"Its okay to be nervous." Emma smiled. "I think you'll fit in here much more than you think you will."
"What exactly do you teach?" I asked. "I didn't see your name on my schedule.."
"I'm not a teacher, I'm kind of like a guidance counselor." Emma shrugged. "You can come to me with any problems you have."
"Yeah. Thats what my therapist is for." I muttered.
"Let me guess, Doctor Hopper?" Emma asked.
"Yeah. So?" I asked.
"He's a friend of mine. Don't worry, I know hes a stickler for appointments so you won't miss any while you are here. I can take you." Emma said with a smile.
I just sighed and adjusted my bag on my shoulder and started walking ahead of her into the school.
"I know you aren't happy to be here kid, but its the safest place for you." Emma sighed.
"Stop calling me kid." I said and rolled my eyes. "I'll be 18 next month, and then I can leave and you'll never have to worry about me or my safety again."
"If you still want to leave by then that is." Emma shrugged. "You had to grow up way too fast, if anyone gets pissed at the world, teenager its me believe me. This is your chance to just relax and be who you are born to be."
I turned around and glared at her.
"No offence, but my dad has stage 4 lung cancer, he is dying. I'm months away from losing him. I'm not here to relax, and be the next one to defeat the dark lord or whatever it is you expect me to fucking do here. I'm here, because I have no choice in the matter."
"I'm sorry about your Dad. I really am, you can be pissed off, you are entitled to it, but don't take it out on the people who are trying to help you." Emma said and put her hands on her hips.
I turned around again and walked into the school.
Emma caught up to me.
"Classes don't start for another hour, so I'll show you to your room, you can meet your roommate and she can help you get to your classes, You have a map in your paperwork in case you get separated."
Emma let out a frustrated sigh as I remained silent.
"According to the email I got from your father, you are going to continue your online school, thats a lot of work to take on and some of these teachers here are tough as hell are you sure you want to do that?"
"Yes, I'm a senior this year I plan to graduate actual high school." I scoffed.
"Alright. Hang on." Emma said and stopped. "I get it, you somehow think this is my fault."
