It's my first day and I was already making a fool out of myself. I stood up out of my seat, I must have been beat red. "I'm sorry, you can-"

Luke laughed, "It's fine. I'll just sit here." He put his stuff on the desk in front of me and slid into the seat. I sat back down and closed my eyes, trying to relax myself and make the embarrassment go away.

Before my blush could go away, I heard a high pitched voice call my name. I was scared to open my eyes because I had a good guess at who it might have been.

"Gosh, Bella! I've been looking all over for you!" I opened my eyes and saw Ariel standing in front of me.

"How do you know Bella?" Lindsey asked Ariel.

"Um, She's my step-sister..." She said as if everyone had already knew and it was old news.

Lindsey gasped, "What? Bella you didn't tell me that!"

I sunk down into my seat, we now had the attention of the whole room. "She's not my sister." I said.

Ariel knew that everyone was staring so she changed the subject, "Luke, what are you doing in my seat?" She smiled and hit his arm playfully, I was suddenly becoming jealous because this made me realize that they were friends.

"Well because your not-so-sister sat in my seat." He looked at me and I started blushing again.

"But you said-" I started talking but Ariel cut me off.

"Ugh, fine. I'll sit over here!" She walked over to the seat in front of Lindsey and sat down. "So, Bella, what happened to you this morning? I was waiting for you for so long!"

"I had a really hard time finding out what to wear." I lied.

"Oh..." She shrugged, "So how did you get here? Did you know how to get to the school?"

Oh no, she was making it so obvious that I was new and Luke was sitting right next to us. Lindsey kicked Ariel's seat and Ariel got the hint. Her mouth dropped when Luke asked, "Why wouldn't she know how to get here?"

I put my face in the palms of my hands when I heard Ariel's answer, "Uh...Uh...We...We moved!"

Before Luke could answer the bell rang and the teacher walked in, starting the lesson.

An hour later, the bell rang and we all left the class. I walked out quickly, trying to avoid everyone. I started scanning each locker to try and find my own. I finally found mine and started putting the combination into it.

"Hey, new girl." I looked up and it was Luke, he was leaning on the locker next to mine.

I started blushing again, of course. "I'm not new..."

"Wow that is the biggest lie ever." He laughed.

"What are you talking abo-"

"I know you're new. I also know that you moved in with Ariel's family but why...?" He asked.

My stubborn-ness was kicking it. "I don't have to explain myself to you. I don't even know you." I didn't want to talk about the real reason why I was here, especially to someone who I barely knew yet made me turned as red as a tomato every time he acknowledged my existence.

"I don't know you either, but I would like to." He smiled and stood up from the locker.

My face was so red, it must have looked like it was about to explode. Why was he showing such an interest in me? I just didn't get it.

"I-I don't know how to answer that so..." I opened my locker, put my backpack in and shut it. "I guess I'll go now." I nodded to him and began walking off. Then, I remembered what would happen if he found out that I was new.

"Actually..." I turned around, and said, "Can you not mention me being new to anyone?"

He smiled. "Of course not." I turned back around and started walking again. I smiled to myself. I really hope I didn't have feelings for him. Who know what would happen with that...

After school, I started walking home. I think I knew my way to and from school now. I walked into the house after about a 10 minute walk. I threw my bag on the floor near the door and kicked off my shoes. After I did that, Ariel walked in.

"Bella, I have something to ask you..." She said.

"The answer is no." I rolled my eyes and walked up the stairs to my room, slamming the door behind me.

Ariel started pounding on my door, "Please, Bella! I wanted you to come to this party with me!"

I laughed sarcastically, "Ha, no!"

"Luke will be there..." As soon as I heard his name, I smiled. Before I could stop myself, I opened the door.

"Fine. I'll go."

She grinned widely, "Hm, now that I know your weak spot..." She giggled and walked into my room.

"Where is the party?" I asked, sitting back on my bed.

She sat next to me, "One of those popular girl's house- Well mansion, I should say..."

I nodded, "Oh okay." We sat there in an awkward silence for a little while.

She stood up instantly, clapping her hands and her eyes lit up as if she had the best idea ever. "I can do your make-up and let you wear one of my dresses!" She smiled.

I opened my mouth, beginning to say no but then I though...maybe I should look good when I go. Luke will be there, I mind as well impress him. I smiled and she started jumping up and down. She knew my answer...

"Yay! I'll go get my stuff!" She ran out of the room quickly.

If this party was anything like the first day of school, it would be interesting...
