I really hope you enjoy the story! I'm working really hard on this to be my best story yet! :-)

________________________________

Before I start you through the journey of my life, I thought I would tell you a bit about myself. My name is Isabella, but I make everyone call me Bella since my full name makes me sound like some sort of Disney princess. I currently lived in Texas with my Dad. Many people ask why I'm not living with my Mom since it never makes sense when a Dad has custody of a child and not the Mother. I always answer with the same answer, "My mom wanted me almost as much as I wanted to live with her, which is not at all."

When my parents separated 4 years ago when I was 12, my Dad decided it would be much better for me to live with him. My mom lives in Maine with her new family that she started even before her and my Dad had gotten a divorce. It doesn't bother me that my Mom wanted to be with her new husband and kids more than she wanted to be with my Dad and I because I know she would have miserable with us. I usually have that effect on people...making them miserable.

I had a few friends in my town but I was mostly close to my best friend, Victoria. She is the type of person who doesn't hide any of her feelings and says exactly what is on her mind. She doesn't care what anyone thinks but she still tries to fit in. I was total opposite. I never showed emotion, unless it was to myself, and I most certainly cared what everyone thought. I tried my best to fit in at my high school but I was still a nobody. The only reason people did know about me was because of my group of friends. I didn't mind this because now, being a junior, I have been through it so much and I was use to it.

My life was pretty simple. But there was that one day that changed everything, I remember it perfectly. I heard the bell ring for lunch while I was in English class, I stood up and walked out of class. I waited by the door for Victoria since her room was right next to mine, I figured we could walk to lunch together. I smiled as soon as I saw her walk out of her room.

"You took long enough!" I said sarcastically because I had only been standing there for a few moments.

"Sorry! I was caught up with my teacher being so interesting!" She replied, also being sarcastic.

We walked into the lunch room and sat down at our usual table. It was filled with my group of friends, we all got along very well. I always sat next to Victoria, we are inseparable. I began eating my lunch when one of the Vice Principals tapped me on the shoulder, I turned around to face him.

"Isabella, you're being dismissed. Your grandmother is here to pick you up. It's an emergency." There was a panic look on his face but at that moment, I had no idea why. I soon found out.

I glanced over to my friends with a confused look on my face. They all said bye to me as I walked away and I waved back. I walked with the Vice Principal over to the dismissal area and saw my grandma, with tears streaming down her face. I ran up to her and hugged her.

"What is wrong, Grams? Is everything okay? Why are you crying-?" Before I could finish my marathon of questions she replied with one answer.

"It's your father..." She trailed off and at the moment, it all hit me. I put it all together. My dad was in a rush to work all morning, he had to drop me off at school because it was raining and he didn't want me walking in the rain. He usually calls or texts me during the time he knew I had free period but I hadn't received any today. I thought it was just the service in my school but I thought otherwise now that my grandma was crying her eyes out.

Later that day, I found out my Dad had been in a car crash just as he was driving into the parking lot of his work place. A man driving an old pick up truck couldn't see through the rain drops that were rapidly hitting his windshield. He collided into my dad's small car, causing my Dad to die instantly.

I am now on a plane, on my way to Maine, It's one month after my father's death. My mother was brought into court and the judge told her that she now had custody of me due to what has happened to my Dad. Right now, she is probably getting ready to pick me up from the airport in Maine with her new family. I had to leave everything, my friends and grandparents. As soon as I step off this plane, everything would change. And by everything, I mean, EVERYTHING.
