"I like the shade of green on your dress!" smiled Talio
"They match your eyes!" I replied.
"Well, what do you want for your meal?"
"I wouldn't mind the stake," I giggled,
"Neither would I!" He took a sip of his wine, my headache came back, so I downed my water. The waiter arrived and asked,
"What would you like?" We placed our order for food and some more drinks. I looked at Talio's green eyes, alive with beauty and mystery. I smiled at him, studying his eyes, the reflections, the colour, the glow.
Glow? What?
"Talio! Your eyes are glowing!" They dimmed as I said it, he blinked and they went back to normal,
"The light my dear." he told me, "It plays tricks on one's eyes."
"Of course, of course," I sighed, "I'm being silly."
"No you're not."
"What did you say?"
"Nothing, have some more water." Talio replied, I obeyed. I was very
confused.
Probably just the hangover.
I glanced at the clock, carefully embedded in one of the fake pine beams. It was half past five.
Can you have a hangover at half past five?
"How do you like the place?" I asked Talio, trying to distract myself from mind boggling confusion.
"It's very..." he searched for the right word, "...sophisticated,"
"I agree. It has a certian air about it. Don't you think?"
"Yes - a lovely aptmosphere." he smiled as a waiter approached with our food,
"And remember," I told him, "It's on me."
