Bailey's Pov

I heard the backing of Charlie's chair creak of stress, and her feet sliding forwards against the flooring which I guessed was wood from its usual creaking. I sat back as well, sliding my hands back to guide myself. Even with the gentle hum of Oliver's voice somewhere inside the room, I could hear the clicking of springs under the mattress trying to hold my shifting weight.
I listened as closely to Oliver and Gavin's conversation, to find when I could join in. The gentle shuffle of Gavin's hands brushing against each other in swift movements stopped after a while, and Oliver ceased to say something.
"Hey, Oliver?" I began, hearing the fabric of his clothing rub softly against the back of his neck as he turned to look at me. "Yeah, Bailey?" Oliver responded, his voice genuinely curious.
"What did the sky look like this morning?" I asked him. I usually asked him this, because he sounded so dreamy when he told me. In fact, he had let out a long, heartfelt sigh before he began to speak. "The sun was just peaking past the horizon mountains, painting pinks, yellows, oranges, reds, and purples like a gradient in place of the regular blue and white sky. It was sunny, and bright, still is really." I heard him look beyond me, to where I could feel warmth heating my back.
He was looking out the window again, and went quiet for a bit. "Truly beautiful.." he spoke at last, leaving the clear image of a sunrise sky. "Thanks, Oliver." I whispered, feeling the sunlight now kiss my cheek. It was silent for a second, but I could tell everyones focus was on something else, but I knew it was on Gavin because I could hear his hands brushing together. It took a moment, when finally Oliver spoke up again but this time for Gavin as a translator. "Gavin says we should..go down to get breakfast." Oliver said, pausing in words slightly to keep up with Gavin's swift gestures.
Charlie's voice suddenly perked, "that'd be great!" She exclaimed, sounding quite excited, along with the heavy creaking of her wheelchair stressing under her sudden movement.
"I'm famished, let's go right now!" She heard Oliver leave his feet with a hop and land somewhere past Gavin and jog for where the door was. "Wait for us yah big goof!" Charlie laughed, and the subtle squeaks of her wheels following him. Gavin held the door open for her as she made her way out, and she felt for the wall to her left.
"Let's head to my room first so I can get Beach." She suggested, and Oliver spoke for the rest of them, "Sure! I thought I was gonna miss out on my daily lovin' for him." Maybe not the last part, but everyone did love him lots.
Once they retrieved Beach, and Oliver gave him the daily lovins, they made their way through the mostly quiet halls down to the dining room. At first, I could only hear the shuffling and tip taps of everyone's footsteps -and Beach's pawsteps- against the flooring but then it started to get louder. The murmuring of the dining hall was full of pretty hungry kids and teens. I heard Benjamin and Ji-hun greet us from a table they had chosen already and we all sat down there too. I sat at the end, closest to Charlie, with Gavin at my right side.
Immediately, Gavin and Ji-hun's swift hand movements of sign language were taking turns. Ji-hun was deaf, and Gavin's bestest friend. Even though Ji-hun can't hear his own voice, he isn't a loud talker and is actually a very soft spoken kid since he doesn't talk much and instead is really attentive to his surroundings. Benjamin, who is conversing with Oliver, is a narcoleptic so he just falls asleep at random. For being such a sleepy boy, he's actually quite energetic and loves doing fun things. However, he can get hurt more badly doing active things he loves. He's closest to Oliver, because they can relate on their wounds. Oliver doing it unknowingly, and Benjamin waking up to find a new injury every few minutes. Sometimes they'll even bicker about who has the worst scars or past injuries. It's pretty amusing to listen to actually.
