Beep! Beep! Beep!

Uggghhhh! I hate my alarm! I was having a good dream. Might as well get up before I'm late for school. Oh, I almost forgot, hi, I'm Lavender Avery and welcome to my boring life.

Okay maybe it's not that boring. Maybe I should tell you about myself, yeah? Where do I start...

I'm sixteen years old. My birthday is 22th April. And no my favorite colour isn't lavender. Ha ha very funny bro. My favorite colours are yellow and blue.

I absolutely love music. No, I don't sing like my dad. Singing isn't really my thing. People say I'm not that bad, but eh, I don't believe them.

I don't have that many friends... I have one best friend though. Her name's Madison. Ya know Jonah? Jonah Marais? Yeah, that's Madison's dad. She doesn't see him much either since the band is always on tour, but they always make the most of it when Jonah's home.

I wish dad and I were like that... Anyway I should probably get out of bed now. I'm already running late. I jump out of bed, like no really, I frickin jumped out. No sarcasm I promise.

If you didn't notice yet, I'm really weird.

I ran to the bathroom like Flash to brush my teeth and wash my face blah blah blah you know the rest.

After taking a relaxing but quick shower I quickly threw on whatever looked clean and grabbed my backpack before running out.

My younger sister's Lily and Cherry already left for school. I didn't bother taking lunch, it's not like I'll eat it anyway.

I ran to the bus stop, I couldn't be late, it's too far to walk. Once I reached the bus stop I was just in time to get on. Well, technically, I was just lucky, I was the last to get on but because the stupid old school bus was having trouble closing the door, I could get on and catch my breath.

I sat in my usual seat, next to Madison. We have a tradition like thingy. Because I'm almost always late for the bus because I go to bed really late, Madison let's me lay my head on her shoulder while we share earphones.

We usually listen to Billie Eilish, YUNGBLUD, Ariana Grande, etc. Madison absolutely loves Ariana Grande for some reason. I think she's okay, I guess.

We both love Billie Eilish. It doesn't take longer than 30 minutes to get to school and soon enough I find myself hugging Madison goodbye. See, Madison is a year older than me. We still have a few classes together but not many. Luckily we have lunch at the same time.

"Bye Maddie, see you later bro." I say to Madison as I walk into the building and we part ways.

I push through a crowd of people, trying to get to my locker.

"Heyyy, Lavender! What's cool, my dude?" Lucas says putting his arm on my shoulder, leaning some of his weight onto me, as we try to get to our lockers.

Lucas's locker just happens to be one down from mine to the right.

"Not much, you?" I ask as we finally reached our lockers. Lucas is one of my...friends? Yeah I guess we're friends. He's your typical player who makes all the girls drool and their boyfriends (if they have) jealous.

He's never tried to hit on me though, which I'm glad for. We're just friends. Nothing more, nothing less.

He has a little play toy every month. Most of them think they're special when they're with Lucas. Last year, he dated a girl named Elizabeth Baker. The poor girl was found crying her eyes out after Lucas broke up with her.

She wasn't like the others. I liked her. She never wore short clothes to get noticed or pretended to be someone she isn't.

She was genuine. Lucas kinda ruined her, to be honest. After the break up, she only started wearing black. She started wearing heavy eyeliner and stopped talking. She always looked pissed off.

She scared all her friends away. Now she sits alone at lunch. She never talks, well, not unless she's threatening you.

The bell rang and I ended up running to class, not wanting to be too late. Once I finally reached the class I was 5 minutes late.

"Miss Avery, you're five minutes late to my class!" my Math teacher yelled. She was one of my least favorite teachers at this school. Her name's Ms Johnson, not that it matters or anything.

"Yeah, yeah, I know. Just continue your lesson." I said rolling my eyes. This lady's super annoying. I'd rather be on Mars while it rains acid than be in her class for longer than an hour.

Okay maybe I'm exaggerating...

Just a little bit.

I sat down in my desk; all the way in the back. Next to some random kid. Not gonna lie, I'm surprised I made it to grade 10. I almost never pay attention.

For example, right now, I'm talking to you guys instead of listening to some old, wrinkled, probably super lonely lady talk about equations.

"Lavender! What's the answer to the question on the whiteboard?" Ms Johnson said snapping me out of my thoughts.

I smirked as I put my feet up onto my desk and replied, "You're the teacher, so why don't you tell me."

Her face scrunched into an infuriated expression. She always had a short temper. I found amusement in her reaction.

The rest of the class looked back and forth between Ms Johnson and I, holding shocked expressions.

That only boosted my confidence. "Get. Out." Ms Johnson gritted through her yellowing teeth.

I held bit of a shocked look. She usually just yells at me that I'd gotten detention.

"Get out now! Go to the principals' office! I'm sick and tired of your attitude! Ungrateful brat!" she yelled. I've never seen her this angry. Ever.

I grabbed my backpack and left the classroom with an eye roll and slamming the door.

Looks like more detention...
