Tick tock
This clock is really starting to annoy me. I had been sitting here, just waiting for my mom.
The principal had called her in. I can already imagine her stress-eating a donut while driving and mumbling about how much trouble I'll be in when we get home.
Yep, that's my mom for you.
I sighed once again and pulled out my phone and a pair of earphones.
I wasn't really in the mood to be on my phone (surprisingly). I just clicked the 'Shuffle' button and listened to whatever came on, which happened to be Boy With Luv by BTS and Halsey.
I love K-pop.
I started dancing a bit in my seat as I hummed along to one of my favorite bands.
Suddenly, I was rudely interrupted by someone pulling out one of my earphones.
I rolled my eyes, ready to yell at whoever decided to disturb me. I quickly stopped myself seeing that it was my infuriated mother.
Oh crap...
Welp, I'm dead. It was nice knowing you. I'd like everyone to wear blue and yellow at my funeral please.
I quickly dismissed my thoughts to greet my mom.
"H-hey mom...?" I said trying not to stutter, but it came out more as a question.
"Mrs Avery! Please, come to my office so we can discuss Lavenders' punishment." Mr Marcus said "cheerfully" before mom could say anything to me.
As she walked away, I noticed chocolate smudges on her fingers still. Damn. Now I want chocolate donuts.
"Uh, Lavender, you can come in, if you'd like." the principal said standing next to the door, waiting for my answer. I nodded quickly and shoved my phone into my pocket again.
I jogged to the door and closed it behind me before sitting in the chair next to my mom.
"Okay, where do I start? Lavender is a very... Uh good student... Academically speaking. But her behavior is out of hand. This morning she got into a fight with the vice principals' daughter, Alex Solomon. This is unacceptable."
"Lavender is very smart. She has the highest marks in her grade... But because of her behavior we are forced to, unfortunately, expel Lavender."
Mom's eyes widened. Pure shock was written across her face.
"Sir, there must be something you can do. Like you said, Lavender is smart, she just makes bad decisions... A lot" Mom frantically says.
Ha Bad Decisions. What up Ariana Grande reference. Shut up Lavender, this isn't the time for jokes.
"I'm sorry Mrs Avery. Lavender can only attend Rosewood High until tomorrow. After that, she'll have to attend another highschool. Enjoy the rest of your day. Goodbye Mrs Avery. Good luck with the new school Lavender."
My mom nodded, as to say goodbye back as we both stood up.
Silence. That was all that was heard as we walked out of the building to the car. I made sure not to walk too close to her, afraid she might explode anytime now.
I was scared. She's quiet. Too quiet. This can only mean one thing.
She's calling dad...

Mom and I had gotten home safely. Still, not a word was said.
I feared the worst.
Then, the unexpected happened.
"I'm disappointed in Lavender..." mom said softly. I froze. She usually just yells at me...
"You were such a good girl. Never got into trouble. Always hated violence. What happened to that little girl Lav? Where did she go? Why did she run away?" she add, again in that soft sad tone.
These were all questions I, myself, couldn't answer exactly.
"That girl, that weakling, is gone. She's never coming back. Ever. And I'm glad." I responded, though it hurt to say that about myself, I had to.
"This is not you Lavender. I miss the old Lavender! Bring her back! She was the strongest little girl I knew!" Mom said a bit louder. She sounded frustrated. She was right though, this wasn't the real me.
"You don't know me! You and dad are always too busy! You never once, once, decided to get to know the person I became!" I yelled out. Tears were furiously streaming down my cheeks like water falls.
"What do you mean?! You're our daughter, of course we know you!" she yelled back trying to convince herself that she was right. Even I could see it. Neither of us believed her.
"Name one time both you and dad just sat down and watched a movie with me! And just invested your time in me and only me!" I was confused on what I felt. I felt both anger and sadness. I felt like I could explode because of all the emotions coursing through me.
Mom fell silent at what I had said. She knew I was right. She hung her head and stayed silent.
"Exactly." I said angrily. I ran up stairs and stuffed my bag with clothes, not even looking at what I was packing.
I heard foot steps following mine. I ignored it and continued packing some more stuff, not forgetting to take my extra money I had saved up.
"What are you doing?!" mom asked frantically, watching me pack in my shoes.
"Leaving." I said coldly.
She started taking some things out and even put them back.
"You're only sixteen Lavender! You're not going anywhere." she said with a humorless laugh. I rolled my eyes.
"Yes. I. Am." I gritted through my teeth. I grabbed everything she took out again and put it back into my bag.
I grabbed all my bags and jogged down the stairs as my mom yelled at me to come back. Once again, I just ignored her.
I opened the door and speed-walked my way down the steps, just as Lily and Cherry got home from school.
"Hey Sissy! Why are you home so early...?" Cherry asked while she and Lily slowly walked up to me, holding hands.
I stopped in my tracks.
I'll be leaving Lily and Cherry...
I loved my siblings to bits.
I didn't wanna leave them... But I have to.
"Come here," I said softly as sad tears started flowing out again. I dropped my bags to my side and got onto my knees as they ran up to me. They had thrown their bags onto the grass.
"Sissy, why are you crying?" Lily questioned confusedly. I wiped my tears as they stole worried glances at Mom.
"I have to leave for a while..." I said softly. "I'll miss you guys," we group hugged before I picked up my bag, smiling down on the sniffling girls.
"Why? How long will you be gone? Where are you going? Can we go with?" the girls bombarded me with questions.
"I'll don't know how long I'll be gone for. I promise to come back, though." I smiled sadly.
"Pinkie promise?" they said in unison. I chuckled, as I locked my pinkie fingers with theirs.
"Pinkie promise." I confirmed.
I walked away, not bothering to look back. I didn't want to see my siblings sad faces.
The only problem now was...
Where do I go?
