Chapter 4: The Lesson

Shortly after I awoke to the elf in my sight and being told what was going to happen, I slowly try to regain my posture. The priest leaves the elf with the task of getting me acquainted with my new body and new surroundings. The elf girl smiled at me, "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Elvina Onyx, Princess of the Dark Elves! I like to read, practice archery, spar, practice magic and-!" She paused suddenly when she heard me try to stifle a giggle. Her cheeks flushed pink in slight embarrassment,"A-And now I'm rambling! Sorry...." She said with a sheepish grin. "Its just, I've never met a real Hero before! My Mom and Dad always told me stories about Hero's from the past when I was little, so I guess you could say that I was a little over excited." She explained. I chuckled softly, "Its alright Elvina. I understand what you mean. So what do we do now...?" I ask curiously. Elvina smiled, "Well first you should know where you are. Your in the Grand Temple of Yesu in Elvali, capital city of the kingdom of Elvalia. The world your currently in is called Elthaios. We are currently on the continent of Elimos. There are in total, fourteen continent's on Elthaios and eight kingdoms in the world all with diffrent alliances between each other. There's the plains kingdom of Elvalia, the desert kingdom of Dialosa and the mountain kingdom of Ulthane. Theb there's the forest kingdom of Nathalia, the island kingdom of Aqualios and the snowy kingdom of Nordalia. And finally there are the swamp kingdom of Pathalatos and the dark kingdom of Diabolos." She explained to me. I mentally did the math, "But what about the other four continents?" I inquired. She smiled tightly, "Well you have the Wild Lands, the place where all the feral and intelligent monsters supposedly come from. Animalia, the continent where the Beastkin have their villages and cities, and the Darklands, a supposedly unexplored continent that's rumored to hide the ruins of an ancient, long forgotten advanced civilization." I nodded my head in understanding. She continued her explanation, "You see the tiled symbol your standing on?" She asked me. I nodded my headin affirmation, but my eyes glazed over as they wandered to her large chest. Elvina slowly noticed where my attention was and sqeaked cutely in embarrassment, covering her chest with her hand, a heavy blush of embarrassment on her face. I blushed heavily, quickly averting my eyes, "S-Sorry...." I mutter. "I-Its fine," she assured me, "Im should've expected a reaction like that from someone with your....gift." My eyes widened in horror and shame, and i felt tears well up in my eyes. She found out my shameful secret. "H-Hey now dont cry! I-I'm not disgusted or anything! I mean...its surprising sure, but i dont think its bad!" She quickly pulled me into a comforting hug, wrapping her arms around my neck and burying my face in her bountiful breasts. Despite my mood i couldn't help but love the softness of her skin. 'So soft...their like pillows...' I thought to myself. Elvina blushed heavily when she realized what she was doing and she gently pushed me away from her yammering apologies. I chuckled softly at her cuteness, "Its fine Elvi, really." I assured her. She sighed in relief but her pointed ears twitches softly, "What did you just call me...?" She asked with a curious expression on her face. "I think Elvina is kinda too formal for me, so i decided to give you a nickname, Elvi. You dont like it?" I asked. "N-No it's fine," Elvina assured her. "I'll just call you Jess!" She said with a smile. I chuckled softly, "That sounds fair." We laughed together before Elvina got back to the matter at hand. "Now backyo your introduction lesson. As i mentioned before we got sidetracked," Elvina blushed as she remembered the moment. She made sure to cover her breasts this time as she talked. I noticed and chuckled softly. "W-What are you laughing at?" Elvina stammered. "It's nothing. Please continue." I assured her, though i couldn't help but notice how cute she was. Then I remembered that the previous moment was how she discovered my secret and my cheeks flushed softly in embarrassment. We sit in awkward silence until she continued her lecture, "The symbol that your standing on is the symbols of magical elements here." I glance at the symbol I'm standing on and i nod in confirmation, urging her to continue. "As you can see there are six sides, each representing one of the primordial elements: Darkness, Light, Water, Earth, Fire and Air. Within those are spirit, mind and body. If I'd had to guess, your magic is the sphere of darkness and its related branches." She explained. "So...what does that mean...?" I asked, confused. "Is means that you will be extremely powerful in dark areas, heavily shadowed areas and during the full moon. But you'll be weak towards light based attacks." She explained to me. "Cool! What else can I do?" I asked, excited. "Well if you master the other magic spheres that are connected to the Darkness sphere, you can use tons of diffrent magical spells. For example if you know any spells that can be used to create items from your element, you can form anything you want from darkness, but tbe size and amount depends on both your mana reserves and how much mana you currently have. Got it?" I nod in confirmation. "Good. Now, most likely any magical potential you have is currently locked away inside your body. Now get into a meditation position. This will help you clear you thoughts and focus your mind. Then close your eyes and clear your thoughts. Empty your mind of any and all distractions. Slow, calm and deep breaths are also important." She instructed. I got into position, (A/N: You know, where you sit like a Buddhist priest in meditation) closed my eyes and took deep even breaths. After a few minutes my mind started to go blank and all my thoughts...drifted away...Elvina spoke softly, "Now, I want you to picture a lake. When it appears, it should be around the size of your current mana reserve." In my mind an utterly massive lake slowly materialised.  I dont know how, but i knew its exact length, width and level of depth. It was around five hundred yards long, five hundred yards wide and around one thousand feet deep. The odd think was, at the center of the lake was a small island. At the center of the island was a small church. Slowly the church started to inch closer and closer. I then heard a soft voice whisper in my ear, "Jessica..." The chruch drifted closer. "Jessica..." the voice repeated. "Jessica!" The voice shouted. My eyes snapped open. Jessica knelt in front of my with a worried expression on her face. "Elvina...Whats wrong...?" I asked confused. "You were meditating for 4 hours. Most people who unlock their mana reserves usually take an hour at most, so I got worried. Are you okay?" She asked. I then noticed that I was covered in sweat. "Y-Yeah...I'm fine..." I assured her. She stared at me for a. Few seconds then nodded her head, as  if accepting what I said. "Alright. So what did you see, how big was your lake?" She asked me. I told her and her jaw dropped in disbelief and shock. "That's impossible! Most people's mana reserve's are typically ten to fifty yards in length and width, and their only fifty feet deep at the beginning! The most powerful mages are usually one hundred yards long and wide and only one hundred feet deep!" She shouted. "She glared at me, as if she was accusing me of lying, "Show me!" She demanded. I closed my eyes and she grabbed my hand and closed her eyes. She then slowly opened her eyes and her face turned pure white, as if she saw a ghost. "T-This is incredible...Your mana reserve's are five times the length and width of the most powerful mages in the world and its ten times as deep! Ten times! And from what I've seen, it's growing..." She gulped softly and stared at me with a mixture of awe and pure fear, "Y-You could be the most powerful mage this world's ever seen."
