Serena's POV
I wake up in a bed with Legolas beside me. "Where are we? What happened?" I ask him hoarsely.
"In the healing house at Gondor, we won the war. Frodo and Sam destroyed the ring. Gandalf found them, Frodo is still unconscious. But Gandalf assures us he'll be fine" he explains. I raise as hand and stare at it.
"I'm..." I start to say.
"An elleth, and a beautiful one at that" he tell me smiling and I blush. "I knew you'd look cute blushing" he states stroking my flaming cheek.
"Can I have a mirror?" I ask him. He hands me a hand mirror and I look into it. A beautiful elleth long white hair and pale grey eyes looks back at me. Her skin as white as snow, plump pink lips, pointy ears and heart shaped face. "I am beautiful" I say.
"You're lovely lass" Gimli states as he enters the room. "Gandalf sent me, Frodo is starting to wake up" he states.
"Legolas, help me stand" I tell him and he does so. I discover I'm in a purple dress. Legolas then helps me walk to Frodo's room which is just down the hall. We enter the room after Gimli, to see the other hobbits and Gandalf already there. Legolas guides me to a chair as Ada enters the room.
"Glad, you're awake Serena" he says smiling.
"Thank you Ada, but it is strange this new body" I tell him.
"Wait, you're Serena?" Sam and Frodo asks me shocked.
"Sure am" I tell them smiling. "My job was completed and I found true love. So I've turned into an elleth" I explain.
"Wicked" Merry and Pippin says.
"We should get Frodo and Serena something to eat. They have been out for nearly two whole days" Gandalf states.
"Food sounds great, is there any veal?" I ask hopeful.
"I'll go see" Ada tells me and leave with Gimli and Sam.
"So what happens now?" Frodo asks.
"Tomorrow is Aragorn's coronation, then we all return home" Legolas states. "I hope you'll come with me Serena. I wish to introduce you to my father" he adds.
"I'd be honoured to meet him" I state smiling. "Grandfather (Elrond) always spoke highly of him" I add. We spend the rest of the day catching up, swapping stories and eating.
(Next day)
I stand looking into the full length mirror at my reflection. I'm in a grey dress and have brushed my hair back. But I feel like something is missing. I'm broken from my thoughts by a knock at the door. "Come in" I call as I make sure my dress in straight. When I turn towards the door I gasp at the sight of my mother. I run into her arms and she hugs me tightly.
"My precious Serena, you have grown into a beautiful elleth" she states.
"I've missed you mother" I tell her as we pull away.
"We brought you something" she adds and I realize Grandfather is here also. I smile and he smiles back. He holds a circlet out to me. "Every princess need a circlet" mum states taking it and places it on my head. "There, you're done" she declares.
"Thank you mother and grandfather" I say curtsying. Just then Legolas enters the room and I smile brightly.
"You look breath taking Serena" he declares and I blush. "My lord Elrond, Lady Arwen" he says bowing his head.
"We'll leave you two alone, see you at the coronation" grandfather says before leading mother out of the room.
"Serena, there's something I've been wanting to do since you turned. But I hadn't worked up the courage until now" Legolas tells me. As he wraps his arms around my waist pulling me close.
"What is it?" I ask him confused.
"This" he states and places his lips gently on mine. I kiss back slowly as I wrap my arms around his neck. I'd never been kissed this way before, but I love to feeling of his lips on mine. We soon pull away for air.
"Wow" I say and he smiles. He kisses my forehead and I look outside. "We have to go, or we'll be late for Ada's coronation" I tell him. He nods his head and links our arms together. Then leads me out of the room, out of the healing house and to the courtyard. That house the white tree of Gondor and where the coronation will be taking place.
We join the gather crowd as Gandalf begins to speak. "Now come the days of the king. May they be blessed" he announces as he places the crown on Ada's head. Ada stands and turns to face us.
"This day does not belong to one man but to all. Let us together rebuild this world... that we may share in the days of peace" he tells us. We all applaud. "Et Eärello Endorenna utúlien. Sinome maruvan ar Hildinyar tenn' Ambar-metta" he sings as he makes his way through the crowd. (Translation: Out of the Great Sea to Middle-Earth I am come. In this place will I abide, and my heirs, unto the ending of the world). Legolas and I step forward with the elves.
Ada's places a hand on Legolas' shoulder and Legolas does the same with his free hand. "Hannon le, take care -o hen" Ada tells him nodding me me. Legolas nods his head and I then look behind us. Ada follows my line of vision to Grandfather and someone holding a Gondor banner beside him.
It moves to reveal mother. Ada grabs mother and kisses her passionately. We all cheer. They pull away and mother follows him through the crowd. At last they reach the four hobbits, who bow to him awkwardly. "My friends, you bow to no one" Ada tells them and they raise. Then bows to them and mine curtsies. The rest of us all follow suit and all bow to the hobbits.
