Your eyes opened slowly and your head pounded, you looked around, you were alone. Somewhere you hadn't seen before. You coughed slightly your chest aching as you did so.

"You're awake?" Loki's familiar voice asked, as he came into view and sat beside you.

"I think so..." you sat up and rubbed your head wincing a little from the pressure build up.

Loki looked at you concerned, "are you okay?"

"I think I'm as okay as I'll ever be only I can't remember what okay  feels like, seen as I've been far from it for a year." you snapped, it wasn't Loki's fault but you needed someone to spit distaste to.

Your head was spinning, it was hard for you to accept all that was happening. You began to think in a way you never had, you began to question what in your life was real, and as crazy as it sounded you felt Loki was the center of it all, and he made you feel most at home. You'd known him for a matter of days and it felt years, though you were still contemplating that could be due to the fact your brain was like mush. The thing that keeps you on track, was steering you in every direction simultaneously and you didn't know which way to turn.

In the mist of all these thoughts you turned your attention to your friend, the one who had been gone for five years. You sat on that one a while, had he really been gone five years? It might be more realistic that he never left and the Avengers drug had just led you to forgetting him. You hoped he hadn't been threatened by them, threatened to keep quiet. By now you were at the stage, where you wouldn't put anything past the Earth's Mightiest Heroes. How could they do this to you, how could they break one person so much for the key to silence so many others? It was hard for you to comprehend though you guessed it might be nice to forget peoples wrong doings. It made you think of how you may have felt if you had any idea what Loki did in New York, it made you think how sick you would feel and out of all this it was the one thing you could thank the Avengers for.

You realised you must have been quiet for a while because the next time you looked up Loki was no longer by your side. You stood up and walked to the door noticing a mirror on your way out, you looked a mess. You sighed, "It's times like these when I wish I had Loki's magic."

"You do realise it gets very tedious using magic to change my appearance," Loki butted in from behind you, soon enough he was in the room and had placed his hands around you to reach your front, "besides I think you're beautiful." You blushed, which gained you a smirk from Loki he began to move his hands around to the back of you and started kissing your neck gently. You relaxed into his touch and closed your eyes enjoying the feel of comfort he was giving you.

You stopped him by speaking, "Why did you chose me Loki, all the people on that street? Why me?"

"You're the only one who doesn't know what a monster I can be..."

"New York?" you stopped him from going any further you knew how much he hated talking about it. He nodded. He seemed broken, more so than you at the current moment which took a lot. You looked at him in the mirror and smiled reassuringly, "Loki what are we?"

"Well I am pretty sure you're a mortal female..." he began his face immediately changing into that of mischief.

"You know what I mean! You call me darling and love and you act like you..." you stopped yourself abruptly and chewed the inside of your cheek thankful you didn't finish the sentence.

"____ there's something about you...I can't quite put my finger on it. The sight of you - the scent of you - does something to me," he explained and you looked to the floor and fell quiet. "Its the same for you, isn't it? That unbearable tug inside of your chest."
