“Dad? Is that you? What are you doing here?” I whispered with shock on my face. When did Dad get in here?

“I’m here to save you.” He replied with a smile. “Your date already left you without a word. Is that what you call ‘gentleman’?” He said while we are walking on the carpet.

I was shock to saw my Dad do this to me even in my prom. I didn’t say any word until he got me to my designated seat. After that, he sat at the other end of the table. He stared at me with sadness on his eyes. He might thought that I don’t like him being with me and he might cause trouble tonight. But I never thought of that. I’m just… glad that he came all over here to escort me in the carpet. But he don’t need to do this for me everytime.

“Hey. Are you okay? It looks like you don’t need me here.” He softly said.

“I don’t really need you here. Why would you come over here? This is my prom night, remember? I don’t want you to destroy every moment of my life, Dad. So please? Leave me alone?” Oh no! What did I just said?

He didn’t reply anymore and just nodded. I moved my head left and right to see anyone heard what I said. It looks like nobody even cares. But Dad… He reached something on his pocket and a small white pouch came out. He placed in the table and slided it near me. I looked at it ignorantly before I stared at him.

“Your mother wanted to give this to you tonight. Happy birthday, Bella.” He just smiled at me.

Why he always smile like that? It made felt guilty for saying those things at him. I already felt it eating me entirely but he just smiled like nothing’s wrong. He stood up and walked out of the door. What have I done? I gripped my hair and slammed my face on the table. Why did I do that? Why? Why? Why? Urgh!

I chinned up and looked at the pouch in front of me. What is this? Did Mom really made this? I thought that he was dead. I opened it and saw two things inside of it, a plain metal necklace and a letter. I reached for the necklace and there’s two of it. Well, it’s a necklace for rappers. I stared at it confusely and thought about something. Why would Mom give me something like this? I placed it on the table and I reached for the letter. I read it and my guilt took over me completely.

I’m here at a store, just outside the school, wearing my old uniform ( sando and cargo pants ), smoking out all my depression away. I changed my outfit already after I got out of the gym. It looks like Bella doesn’t need me anymore. Bethie… What have I done wrong? I took care of her completely that I let her do the things she like. Did I lack of something? If there is, what is it?

I threw my cigarette away after I consumed every piece of it and went inside the  car. But before I could enter the key to the lock, someone punched me in the face and I fell on my feet.

“Missed me, Hawkins?” a familiar tone voice out.

I looked up and dumbfounded to saw a person next to me, standing like a leader. Falcon, Resistance’s previous leader and his other companions; Ramirez, Omar, Yuri, Kevin and Sato, stood in front of me.

            “You?” I muttered.

“Yeah, me. Who else do you expect?”

“What do you want from me?” I said while trying myself to sit up. His punch was so powerful my lower lip burst from the impact.
