Ch.6 The unfortunate lovebirds

We reached right on time, not many people were there. We went and sat down with the others on the wooden floor. The gym was really big, on the far end there were two basketball courts, the middle portion was used for gymnastics and exercises. The part in which we were was empty so it seemed that it was used for warm up and stretching.

"Okay! Listen up kids. The sports camp will be held five days from today, everyone take their forms fill 'em up and make sure your parents sign 'em." The coach's announcement made everyone including me excited about the upcoming days.

"Coach! Where are we going this time?" Someone from the back asked the question which was burning inside many of us.

"The venue this time is the..... Lost Garden."

The lost garden? Never heard about anything like that!

"Xian!!" Zoe poked me with her shoulder and for some reason she had lowered her voice.

"You don't know 'bout the Lost Garden I suppose."

"Nah. Never heard a word 'bout it."

"Kay. Lemme tell ya then; this garden is actually a forest. It used to be the most beautiful garden in New York but then an unfortunate incident occurred few years before.... there used to this couple like Romeo and Juliet, their parents didn't approve them."

Zoe was making her voice sound creepy and I was trying my best to not get goose bumps.

"And like most of the other couples they decided to run away. They planned that they would meet near the fountain which in the far end of this garden, after everyone else was asleep. They did as planned. They girl took the route through the garden; there was this wishing well in the centre of the garden.... the girl was terrified while walking all alone in the dark, she heard some voice from the bushes behind, maybe it was a squirrel or something, she turned hastily and that's when she slipped and fell right inside the well. People saw some witch took her out of the well when she was almost dead, and people say she did some sorts of horrifying experiments on her. The body was ruined but her soul kept wandering.

"The boy kept waiting and was losing patience, the morning both their families were looking for the couple; they discovered the boy sleeping near the fountain and as they couldn't find they the girl they threatened him to tell them where she was but as he knew nothing he couldn't reply. No one believed in him and they gave him the time till the sun set; either he had to speak up or the girl should return herself. The boy believed she would come to his rescue but that was his last afternoon. His head was no more on his neck and the people burried him near the wishing well. After that incident both the souls of the lovers have been wandering in the woods thinking they were betrayed and they would attack anyone thinking its their betrayal love... anyone who would walk by that place. People stopped using that garden after they realised something was wrong in it and so it was abandoned and later converted into a forest....."
