I think I lost a beat. The nurse wasn't around, the medicine wasn't there and any moment Alex could resume bleeding.
I found some more cotton; I wet them and covered the injuries with it temporarily.
I was furious on the nurse to leave like that, she saw how badly Alex was injured and she couldn't have left unless she got a heath-attack by the mutilated face.
I was calm, I knew a lot about medicines as I had frequent use of it in my previous school. Burns, cuts to blows and bruises; I knew all the medicines required for them.
I found a stack of un-arranged meds in a shelf. Before getting my head inside that pile I checked Alex, he needed a change of cottons. I band aided him temporarily without any med this time. I returned to the shelf, my head my throbbing maybe because of head butting Alex.
I started taking out tubes from the pile one-by-one and reading the names.
*There all unknown names....*
I felt screwed. I had to read the contents of the tube now as well. So many damn tubes to go through, but not finding any other option I did that only. Feeling idiotic to be helping a guy I hate and feeling helpless that I'm unable to help properly I squinted my eyes on the small letters.
*Okay, whom am I kidding? There are like a hundred of tubes here with names which I never heard of I'm trying to read the bloody small paragraphs on them. Jeez, I'm option-less.*
Finding the first tube useless I dropped it on the floor then grabbed another and squinted on the letters.
*Luck just shone eh.*
I had found just what was required but this medicine looked less effective, I didn't want to go and surf more meds so I ran to Alex. There was someone standing next to him. She was blocking my view to Alex. She turned to me as I walked to them.
*Oh! Yay I guess*
She was the nurse and Alex's wounds were dressed while I was searching frantically for the medicine.
"Where had you disappeared in the middle of an emergency?"
I said twitching a smile.
"Why, to the chemist of course."
She answered in a matured tone.
The floor seemed to be moving and I tried not to lose balance, my head my throbbing even harder now. There was something dry on the side of my head, I put my hand there. Dried blood. I was bleeding? How come I didn't realize before. The nurse came and pushed my hair aside, revealing a wound with blood dried around it.
"Did you both get into some kind of cyclone?"
The nurse twisted her face saying that. Was the wound that bad?
