Hey! I hope you think the story is getting on well so far, I'm enjoying writing it!
I don't actually know if anyone is reading this but either way I'm doing it as an entertainer for myself. I'm getting pretty into it, actually.
So I've decided to put more meaning into the story line that was originally going to happen.
Of course, you don't know, but I'm letting you know I improved it.
I have also changed some of my writing style, you'll see about that.

Anyways, this part of the story takes place 10 years later. The main character is now 24, and working at..well, you'll see.

Main Character's and Phoenix's apartment.

"Oh no."
I heard Nick mumble in the kitchen.
"Oh no, oh no, oh no!"
"Hm? What's wrong, Nick?" I get up from the couch, gazing in the direction of the kitchen.
"Look at this!" Nick runs towards me, holding his phone in his hand.
Before me is a text conversation.

Larry:
yo nick, so we're having a meal, and my dad is coming to speak about, well you know..
Nick:
No, I don't know.
Larry:
yeah you do man!! a catch up!
Larry:
well man, I thought this was a good idea! bur I didn't want to include my DAD, so i thought why not a catch up from our old friends together.
Nick:
So me, you, and (name) at a meal then? What was the backstory for if you were literally going to invite us to a dinner?
Larry:
man! you ain't listening. a catch up, so..
Nick:
So..
Larry:
you can't even take a hint! Edgy!!!!
Nick:
Edgeworth?! You invited him already?
Larry:
Well, I actually thought you and (name) could do that, you know, since you work in court and all.
Nick:
WHAT?! I'm an attorney! (name) is a receptionist! How did you get the idea we would cross paths again since i proved him not guilty! We decided to stop crossing paths, remember? Remember the whole Von Karma? You faked being him?
Larry:
hey man. it's your job to invite him now.

I look up from the phone.
"WHAT?! Are you actually going to do it?"
Nick smiled sadly. "It would be a chance to see how he's getting on since Von Karma. You haven't seen him since middle school!"
Am I panicking?
What's happening?
"Woah, are you okay? You're going pale."
"Uh, no!"
"Anyway, won't this be great for you? Didn't you like Miles?"
My eyes widened. "Shhh!"
Nick looks confused. "Nobody is here?"
"Ugh, whatever stupid attorney." I glowered. "Do whatever you want."

Your and Pheonix's apartment, the next day.

I wake up, a startled look across my face.
Today Nick is speaking to Miles!
Oh, Miles.
I wonder how he looks nowadays. I would have thought I'd run into him as a receptionist, but he has his office outside of court, apparently.
I'm blushing.
"Wow, I guess you can't get over crushes by just avoiding them." I mumbled.
A waft of savoury smells flows into my room. Nick must be making breakfast.
Hmm, I'll go and meet him.

"Hey (name)! Want some breakfast?"
I enjoy the smells in the aroma. "Mm, yes please," I go sit on the couch.

"So.." Nick begins "Instead of just giving Miles a text, I went up to his office to see if he was there."
"Oh. Was he there? It's pretty early to be working in an office, right?"
"(name)! It's 10:23 AM. You're just a late sleeper, lazy."
"Hey!"
"And yes, he was there. I mentioned it to him, and he said sure, as long as it wouldn't be awkward.. which reminds me of something..."
I glowered. "What might that something be?"
"I sorta forgot.." Nick puts his hand behind his head, one eye on the pan. "To say that you were coming. He only knows about me and Larry."
"Nick! I haven't seen him since middle school!"
"He'll know who you are, I'm sure.." Nick said nervously, passing me the breakfast.
"He better."
"Itadakimasu," I take a bite. "Oh, this is good!"
"I'm a good cook, what can I say?" Nick chuckled. "Anyway, we're going to La Samantha so we need to be wearing something nice."
"Thank god I just got a pay raise." I mumbled.
"Okay, anyway, do you have anything to wear? I'll just wear a shirt."
"Uh, did I ask what you were wearing?" I playfully punched him.
"Hey! That hurt, jerk!" Fake upset.
I groaned. "What a faker."
"Hey, hey! No name calling. You should find something to wear."
"Okay, sure."

Your bedroom.

Hmm, what to wear, what to wear?
I only have a few dresses since my stupid boss keeps changing the uniform policy.
Maybe a play suit! Nah, too casual.
Rummaging through my wardrobe, I finally settled on 2 different dresses.
A blue one that rests just around the knee, or a white silk one with tassels on the bottom that rests just above.

I decided to choose the white one, with my hair down straight. I've been getting fond of having my hair down more recently, brunette seems to be the right colour to have down.
Oh, but will it look like I haven't tried?
Why am I always so insecure?
I settle for a half updo with a small clip on the back.
I check the time. 12:57?!
"Where did the time go?" I muttered.
"Hey (name)! We're going at 1:30. It's just for an afternoon meal, I hope I told you that."
Afternoon meal, so that means light makeup.
"I'm ready, Nick."
I step outside of my room, expecting to see Nick. He also walks out, wearing a shirt and tie.
"Woah, a tie. Fancy."
Nick seemed startled by my words, he must have not seen me.
"Oh, you look.." He looked me up and down. ".. You look fancy too."
"Okay, where are we meeting up?"
"Well there's a nice garden area outside of La Samantha so I asked everyone to meet there."
"Okay, shall we go?"
Nick leads me outside. A rush of hope falls into my face as I think about Miles seeing me, hugging me, speaking to me.
I'm blushing.
