Is one day enough?

Is one day really enough to honor this beautiful being who chose to bring us into this world?

A haze over our beginning we grow inside her. Others may have wanted to pull us from her limb by limb, but she didn't.

Oblivious to it all until we open our eyes to the world and deliver that first wail.

Who knows a mother's pain? Even if she tells the tale, the scars still run deep.

Who knows a mother's joy?
No one. For it is incomparable to any other force on this planet.

Who hears her screams? We all do, but they are louder to her as they bounce off the walls of her broken mind. The tears that stream down her face as she hopes and prays for her child.

Who knows a mother's sadness as her most prized possession wanders out of her arms and into the world after her work is complete?

Who on this Earth can love like a mother? Who can dare to hope like a mother? For being a mother is a sacrifice.

Sacrificing everything for the one person that means more to her than life itself, her child.

Happy belated Mother's Day to all my readers. I hope you had a great day.
